3 letter boy's names

31 weeks pregnant with a baby boy and driving myself nuts over his name. The only one that we both really like is Leo, but it's becoming so popular where I live. I don't mind popular, timeless names (e.g. Alexander, Jack etc) but don't want one that connects too much to a certain generation. Is Leo too faddy?

So as it seems we've taken a liking to 3 letter names, and in the interest of narrowing down our options, I would love to hear your favourites!

I have a Leo and I love it. I wasn't totally sure before he was born for the same popularity reason, but there just wasn't another name I liked as much. And I really don't think it matters what anyone else is called. It does have quite a lot of history and meaning as a name too.

It's really hard finding the perfect name but you will :)

I have a Max. I think it's a good strong name that will suit him throughout life

I have a Leo, chosen precisely because it was a short name in its own right! I know more children called Max, Ben and Tom locally. Ds is especially pleased as it’s short to write at school 😁 I also know a few older men called Leo so I personally think it is timeless. No negative comments that I’ve suffered either. Occasionally misheard as Lee, Liam or Neo, if you fancy anything similar.

I want a Hal!

I have a child with a name on here. Another with a very short name which is short for something longer. We didn't name them the full name on their birth certificate as we liked the shortened ones better. But, when we are being silly we will still say the full version! I don't regret not calling them the longer ones for a second, it's so much easier to just have one name.

Leo, Ben and Max keep doing the rounds as our favourites. Thanks again for all the suggestions, might just be a wait and see what he looks like moment!

I really, really like Max Smile I know it's a classic "dog" name but I think it's a really strong, lovely name.

My son has a three letter name, but his birth certificate has the longer version and he can revert to it when older if he chooses to. It comes up whenever there are changes, e.g. in school, but he changes it to the shortened version.

I know that you do not see the point, but I am personally in the same position and now like having the full version of my name on my birth certificate sounds more serious if I want to complain
