Hi, we've been looking for a middle name that suits Meadow. Due to family connections we have been thinking Meadow Patricia. I'm not sure if this is too traditional for an untraditional name.

Love it and agree middle names don't have to flow. Could always do a third middle name, so Meadow Elizabeth Patricia

Ribbonsonabox · 19/03/2019 21:33

I think it's pretty but it doesnt go with Patricia at all!
Maybe something like
Constance
Elizabeth
Frances?

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 19/03/2019 21:30

I like Meadow! But middle names are hard. I've been thinking about this. How about:

Meadow Audrey
Meadow Audrine
Meadow Patrice
Meadow Angela
Meadow Angelina
Meadow Valentina
Meadow Elisa
Meadow Louisa
Meadow Liselle
Meadow Giselle
Meadow Romilly

RockinHippy · 19/03/2019 00:03

Meadow Elizabeth is lovely, I'm not keen on the others

Meadow for a 3 year old is lovely, but be prepared for her hitting her teens & becoming Meds' or Med, if you can live with that, go for it

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 18/03/2019 23:57

On Sopranos, her name was Meadow Mariangela.

Chocmallows · 18/03/2019 23:57

I prefer Willow, Fearne, Heather, Poppy, but it could grow on me. It has a pretty sound to it.

Rachelhaydenberk1 · 18/03/2019 23:54

Meadow Patrice could maybe work? I'm finding it hard to come up with middle names for Meadow.

MulderitsmeX · 08/03/2019 17:16

Meadow is BEAUTIFUL

Fairenuff · 07/03/2019 23:20

Would you really like to be called Meadow? Seriously? I cannot imagine having to introduce myself as 'Meadow anything'. I think it's a horrible name to saddle your child with. Sorry.

TildaTurnip · 07/03/2019 23:10

I think Meadow Patricia is fine and also like Meadow Elizabeth. I don’t think they need to be of a similar nature or ‘go’ together. I think it is only an issue of you end up with a first name that sounds like it is describing middle one, like, Winter Rose or Scarlet Rose etc

ChampooPapi · 07/03/2019 21:33

(the daughter is called Meadow)

ChampooPapi · 07/03/2019 21:33

I love Meadow, especially the supranos reference Smile

snoringdoggo · 07/03/2019 21:31

Meadow Patti or patsy.

Actually maybe the Patti is too much like a meadow cow pat

HighestMountains · 07/03/2019 15:16

Meadow is ridiculous, sorry. Patricia is a bit of a granny name, but fine for a middle name. I think -ley names gave meanings rekstubg to fields, e.g. Hayley, Beverley, Kimberley, Leigh maybe. I realise those are all a bit 70s/80s though.

badg3r · 05/03/2019 21:51

Meadow Constance
Meadow Verity

That's the best I have! I like meadow just by itself though.

blueskiespls · 04/03/2019 21:50

There is a Meadow in dd's class (aged 7). She's a really sweet happy child. I like the name!

SaltedCaramelEverything · 04/03/2019 20:33

Meadow Elizabeth is my fave of all of them!

Also love Meadow - really pretty and serene name. My DH would never go for it, but it’s on my “if we were brave enough” list! Go for it Smile

GrannyHaddock · 04/03/2019 19:10

Yes, it's the Sopranos. Doesn't chime with me, sorry.

Phantology · 04/03/2019 17:13

Irrelevant I'd have thought unless the same people commented on both threads. MN is not a single being.

LibbyLily · 04/03/2019 17:11

Funny that on the other thread people were very keen for the OP to give her daughter the middle name Denise for 'family reasons', yet here are advising the OP against Patricia.

They're both dated names that haven't yet become granny-chic. Neither goes with the first names the respective OPs were considering - but on the other thread all the MNers insisted that that didn't matter.

2chrissy · 04/03/2019 16:56

Thank you everyone. Very helpful. 😊

Sopranos

daisypond · 04/03/2019 13:12

Meadow Patricia is fine. They don't have to "go", especially if it's named after someone.

somersetblue · 04/03/2019 12:51

I like Meadow and I also love Clover but my OH thinks they’re both too ‘out there’. I think Meadow is definitely up and coming. I’d say go for Patricia, names don’t always have to flow, I think it’s nice to have a middle name that means something to your family. I think a middle name is useful for identification and feeling more individual- especially if Meadow becomes more popular!

mondaysaturday · 04/03/2019 09:43

Meadow is gorgeous but if you're going to use it I'd ditch the idea of a middle name completely. It's not a name that lends itself to being paired with.

We chose a fairly unusual name for our daughter and decided that sticking it with a more "conventional" middle name made it sound ridiculous and picking a middle name with the same 'vibe' made it go from striking and pretty to just OTT. I think Meadow is in that kind of category.
