I think there's something about names starting with a 'Sh' sound that is very 80s/90s somehow. Apart from Charlotte, which is still very popular.

I had a friend called Cheralyn when I was growing up which I thought was just the coolest name ever!

I like Chantal, but I hear it pronounced the French way. Where I live it would probably be morphed into Shan-tauw!

Sorry OP but where I'm from it's pronounced "Shunt-UL" (broad Scottish) and sounds awful. What about Sian or Shannon?

I like it. I spelt it Cherrie in my post but seeing it written prefer Cherry too. I like it lots more than Chantal- a bit dated to me.

I could never use Charlie, I know so many! Both sexes and all sorts of spellings.

Shiloh I dislike due to personal connections.
I like Chantal but worry it is dated but I haven't met one since I was a child (and she was a child, in the 90s)

I actually like Chantal you don't hear it often. But prefer it spelt Chantel
