So I have finally narrowed it down to 10 names. I know they won’t be to everyone’s taste but we don’t want anymore suggestions, just your favourite out of the list.

Albie (Albert on BC)
Otto
Vinnie (Vincent on BC)
Casper
Barney
Freddie (Frederick on BC)
Arlo
Frank (Francis on BC)
Artie (Arthur on BC)
Augie (August on BC).

Otto is my favourite. I'm not keen on IE names at all, so that puts me off all the others, but some of the longer forms are nice.

17caterpillars1mouse · 24/02/2019 19:59

Francis

MutantDisco · 23/02/2019 20:08

Bertie is gorgeous! DS2 gets loads of compliments!

LavenderBelle · 23/02/2019 15:06

We do want something modern, or possible Italian as a middle name. Thank you everyone for you help

Abert Owen S
Albert James S
Albert Vincent S
Albert Grey S
Just a few suggestions.

GemmeFatale · 23/02/2019 13:59

Vincent or August.

DH has vetoed both for us

MamaDane · 23/02/2019 13:58

Casper

Antonin · 23/02/2019 13:55

Albert is such a trad name (at least, since Victoria nd Albert, so I’d go for a more modern middle name to balance.. Mind you AlbertVictor was a favourite with thousands of families, back in the day.

pilates · 23/02/2019 13:43

Albie William
Albie David
Albie Jonathan

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/02/2019 13:20

Albie Jay
Albie James
Albie Joe
Albie Theodore
Albie Francis
Albie Leo
Albie Thomas
Albie Charles
Albie Vincent
Albie Cooper
Albie Ray
Albie Goerge

LavenderBelle · 23/02/2019 13:00

I think we will go with Albie, any middle name suggestion?

OP posts:
LavenderBelle · 23/02/2019 12:59

We aren’t deciding the nickname before they’re born, it’s the name they will be called, they will just get the full name on BC in case they want something less ‘childlike’ when they get older.

Not a fan of Bertie. And our last name starts with S so can’t have Gus.

I have a Freddie and Bertie (Alfred and Albert). Bertie instead of Albie? (Don't like Albie).

Didyeeaye · 23/02/2019 12:31

Im another who loves Augustus nn. Gus.
From your list I really like Arthur or Freddie (Fredrick) best. I like Barnaby nn. Barney as well

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 23/02/2019 12:25

Agree that Gus is a better NN for August...

Of your list, Francis and Arthur are my favourites, with Albert a close-run third.

I detest Barney, partly because of the purple dinosaur, but also because of a very obnoxious child at work of that name.

pilates · 23/02/2019 12:22

Albie, also really like Albert

Susannach · 23/02/2019 12:20

Otto, Casper or August

dubmumof2 · 23/02/2019 12:19

Frank, Arlo, Albie and Casper in that order...

Changedyetagain · 23/02/2019 12:17

Love Albie

Twisique · 23/02/2019 12:16

Love Casper and Barney!

Jaz32 · 23/02/2019 12:06

Freddie is the nicest.
Albert with Bertie instead of Albie is nice too

Raisinbrain · 23/02/2019 11:51

If I had to choose one it would be Otto.

Redcrayonisthebest · 23/02/2019 11:48

Ok so dislike it when parents decide a nickname before the child's even born. So with that in mind Arlo and Otto get my vote, both lovely so male names but not too common.

finallychangedmyusername · 23/02/2019 11:46

My favourites are Caspar and Arthur

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 23/02/2019 11:45

Augie is adorable, but do I dare say only for a child born in August.
Also IPrefer Augustus to August.
August is a bit feminine. If you don't mind me saying so.

Vincent is gorgeous, but Id never use it as I don't like Vinnie.

Barney. The dinosaur. Cute till he's about 10 after that it's a thumbs down.

Casper. Love this.

Otto. Okay neither particularly like or dislike.

Albie is adorable.

Freddie. Don't get the hype over this name. I still can't past Krueger

Artie. Awful sorry.

Frank. See Artie.

Arlo. Why does this name remind me of milk.
