Can't find a boy's name I like!

I must have looked at 50 different lists of boys names and while there are some I quite like (some of the old man names, or ones with historical links), I haven't found a name I love yet. Can anyone think of any boys names that don't get suggested all the time that I may not have come across yet?

Oh no I didn't notice it was a zombie thread!

I love the old English Aelfraed (really it has those combined Ae characters but I can't do them on my phone) and Elfraed which means friend of elves! But DH isn't keen.

Idris is the other one I love which comes from Welsh if you have a Welsh connection.

Have you been on behind the name? They have a good selection of old English names I've never seen anywhere else and not too much bloat of random names. Their advanced search is really great.

You don't have to love the name. You do have to like it and you might find that as you get closer to giving birth, or after baby is born, it just feels "right". You will also grow to love the name because it belongs to the child that you love.

HTH. (My son has an awesome name that I wasn't crazy about at first but grew on me and now I love it!)

Some great suggestions, thanks! I still don't think I've seen one that I love but maybe that's not going to happen. Maverick's a brilliant name!

Our son is called Maverick and we absolutely adore it. It not totally out there but its a little different. We love the meaning and it really suits him.

And yes, hubby is a Top Gun fan lol.

Pregnant with DC2 and although we dont know the gender yet, if its a boy we like Sonny.
