Baby Names By Region (2019 Edition)

Hey!

So I'm not sure if this has been done again but last year when thinking of names whilst pregnant I made a thread recording baby names people had heard by region. It was based off of the fact me and DP had differing views on 'popular' names due to being from different areas. I find it really interesting!

So far I've heard:
Rose (South-East)
Hope Rose (North-West)
Fox (North-West)
Hollie (West Scotland)
Emily (West Scotland)

Glasgow - I've met 11 (ELEVEN!) Finn/Fins and 5 Isla/Islays, all in the last year.

We're in the SE and have a lot of children called Thomas, Henry, William, Lily, isabelle and similar.

West of Scotland is full of baby Oliver's and Jessica's!! And the usual Amelia, Olivia and sophias

I know of a Fox born in 2018, and I thought that was unusual, but then another was born recently. I agree though it is unusual. I also know of someone using Fox as a middle name.
@happydinosaur - Cayman is one I've never heard before!
@Awwlookatmybabyspider Yeah I've heard a few Charlie's. The name has grown on me but I already know a lot in my year group too. I think it is quite a timeless name though. Gabriel surprises me, I've heard a few over the years but not too many. I love April but not heard any round here

@bumblesbeesmum I didn’t think your comment was out of place or boring at all. I think the response you got was incredibly rude. Please don’t take it to heart. People also use these abbreviations and acronyms without any thought about how harsh they sound when you say each word out loud.

Bloody hell that’s horrible. I understood the question I was just offering what I thought was interesting information on the same topic. Having autism means communication isn’t as natural / intuitive for me as it is for others & I know I can bore people being too much about facts and figures but that’s really really upset me.

I’m just north of London in the commuter belt and have an eight month old baby. I’m also obsessed with baby names. The ones round here are:
Boys: Ted / Teddy (have met 5 babies with this name), Arlo (again very popular here) main two ... other babies I’ve met very recently: Jude, Ralph, Toby, Oliver, Elliot
Girls: Emily! Know 3 under a year also Isla - tonnes round here ... also Ivy, Willow, Violet

I've yet to go anywhere and not heard a Charlie. Also heard quite a few Aprils. Yet its not its not in the top 100. Unless its the same child Grin
