Sister for Stanley

Joeybee · 13/02/2019 02:06

I'm pregnant with baby number 2. I have a son - Stanley.
Violet is a strong contender for this baby if it's a girl. However my reservation is that I love names with nicknames to give the name more versatility. All I can think of for Violet is Vee, which I'm not keen on.

Any suggestions of nicknames for Violet? Be as creative as you like...oh and her middle name will be Elsie (if that helps).

Thanks!

I love Violet Elsie. Nicknames could be V, Io, Letty (not sure if any of those are very nice tbh!) but you could call her VE (Violet Elsie) which I think is darling! How about:
Georgia (Gia)
Alyssa (Ally)
Louisa (Lulu)
Isabella (Issy, Isa, Abi, Bella, Ella)
Abigail (Abi)
Poppy (Pops)
Grace (GG)
I'm naming my no2 Scarlett (Scar) which you could maybe like?
Good luck doll x

@AutumnCrow @Justagirlwholovesaboy I like Lettie/Leti, thats cute while she's young.
@CaitlinsYellowSocks Oooooh love Ettie, hadn't thought of that at all.
@Chottie Edna is a name I really like and Edie is the best nickname, I'd also considered Edith for the same reason.
@MikeUniformMike - Oooooh Villy, thats awesome.

Violet is really pretty though.

Stanley and Beatrice is lovely. Or Tabitha. Or Grace. Or Bronwyn if you are remotely welsh.

Love Stanley, I nearly had a Stanley. I have a Sebastian and a Francesca of that helps at all.

AdaColeman · 14/02/2019 21:18

Stanley and Lavinia.

Butterfly84 · 14/02/2019 21:14

I'm really not a fan of Violet. One letter away from violent. Some people pronounce it vio-let. And it's just such a wet name (sorry).

Names you might like:
Rose/Rosa
Edith
Dorothy (Dotty)

I've got a Stanley, if he'd been a girl he would probably have been Hazel. Zee or Zizi or Ella or Zella for a nn?

borntobequiet · 14/02/2019 19:35

Doris.

Villy? Viola in the Cazalet Chronicles series of books was known as Villy. Viola is a pretty name. It would work with Violet too.

MikeUniformMike · 14/02/2019 19:30

Vio? (V-eye-o)

DramaAlpaca · 13/02/2019 22:10

I like Violet with Stanley, and would use Lettie as a diminutive.

Marmitebread · 13/02/2019 22:08

Alice - my Grandparents were Stanley and Alice :-)

Sophronia · 13/02/2019 22:03

Lettie or Vi
