Does anyone have any thoughts? Baby boy expected any day now and we’ve struggled to agree on a boy’s name at any point during the pregnancy.
We half agreed on Ryan but I wasn’t sure. I wanted Oliver but OH doesn’t like it.
I’m just not sure I love Harvey. But it was mentioned on a tv show (the Australian yummy mummy one Blush) and OH was quite taken!
The only other person I’ve mentioned it to was my mum who mentioned something about a giant rabbit from a film in the 50s!

I taught one Harvey a few years ago, he’d be about 10 now he was a nice boy.
I think of Harvey in Suits not Harvey Weinstein lol! Also I know a cockapoo called Harvey lol.
Also despite Oliver being consistently in top 3 I’ve actually never taught an Oliver in the last 5 years! I think most people seem to try and avoid the top few names and so we end up Henry becoming more popular than Harry, Jackson instead of Jack etc. I have had a few Louie, Archie, Tom, George, Daniel, Jacob, Lucas/Luca/Luke, Freddie, Noah!

You've never seen the film Harvey with the man-sized rabbit?! It always used to be on! It's an iconic Jimmy Stewart film. It also had a resurgence when Donny Darko came out.

The name always used to make me think of the film but I work with someone who's son is called Harvey. I'm not a fan of the name (it's a surname to me) but the little Harvey I know is lovely.

Mary-Beth’s husband on Cagney and Lacey was a Harvey, always called Haaarve in a nasal Brooklyn accent.

Love the name harvey. That was on our final list of 2 boys names for our eldest but ended up going with the name bailey

I adore Harvey. I have two girls but our set boy name ever since I was pregnant with my first has been Harvey. Think its classic yet has that ‘v’ that Harry doesn’t have which makes it more exciting! good luck x

I don't like it personally - but it's not classic enough for my taste. It's not weird or anything, just not my bag. I do know quite a few but not loads.

Oliver is far nicer!

I like Harvey. Far nicer than Henry and George. Who cares if someone suspects a Harvey of being......working class.

When I posted on here about naming my DS Harris a few people mentioned Rolf Harris. But honestly it's never been an issue. Like you say, plenty of arseholes out there, why let them taint a perfectly nice name. So don't worry about the Harvey Weinstein thing.

I like Harvey, it makes me think of Harvey Specter from Suits and that's a good thing.

(I'm West of Scotland too and had a wee chuckle to myself at Joby Grin)

I wouldn't use it where I am..the Harvey's around here all come from the estate....

I think it was 60th or thereabouts in the top 100 of boys names in 2017, so not that unpopular but not everywhere too. It’ll sound nice in a west coast accent :)

betty I live in the west of Scotland. No chance of Joby (have known one in the past - thankfully didn’t crease into uncontrollable laughter in their presence but there were definitely comments made out of earshot) but do appreciate PPs taking the time to offer suggestions.
Im not really put off by the popularity of Oliver and would like Ollie as a nickname. But OH doesn’t like it so it’s out! I got the final say with our DD’s name so seems only fair for it to be OH this time.
Stories of moody fucker rabbits and crazy dogs have given me a bit of a giggle tho. Thanks all!
Now just to keep thinking labour thoughts....
