Should I name my baby girl....

Should I name my name baby ( which is on her way) Jaqueline or Suzanne?

I really like Jacqueline (and nn Jackie). I like Susannah but not so much Suzanne.

The two names together make me think Valley of the Dolls.

But yes to what everyone else has said - Susanna(h) is lovely and feels fresher than Suzanne. I actually really like Susan as well, and I think it will come round again as people start naming children after their grandmothers.

Love that these are both names you hardly see used anymore, people will find them dated as they were popular for our generation and be one above.
Personally I prefer Suzanne and there's more nickname potential - sue, Suzi, Annie, Suki etc etc

I was born in the 1980s and plenty of Suzannes and Jacquelines in school. Guess everything comes back into fashion!

my best friend is called Suzanne, My eldest DC (hipster) has it as her number one baby name. It'll come round again soon i'd imagine.

Well those names are both blasts from the not too distant past!

I like Jacqueline, but not its diminutives.

I know a Susannah which I prefer to Suzanne, and she’s called Suze rather than the frumpy Sue

Suzanne, or possibly Suzannah. I once knew a girl called Suzannah who went by Zannah and I thought it was lovely.

I used to dream of being called Susan but I am 58 :). Susannah of course.

I don't really like either. DD has a friend called Susanna, she's a lovely girl so I associate the name with her.

To be honest, a few of my friends' mums are called this. I can't imagine a little baby girl having these names?! 😬

Hmm I knew a lot when I was at school in the 70s but I haven’t met any DC in the past twenty years with those names. So they are definitely not popular. I am not a fan of either name however names are such a personal thing that my view is do what you want!

Like neither but if I had to choose then Jacqueline as I really dislike Sue.

I knew a Jacky once and she used to get called 'Tacky Jacky' so I'd opt for Suzanne.

Suzanne but not keen on either, Suzanne is mums name and she hates it as will always get called Sue, despite telling people not to!

Oooff I have to be honest I’m not keen on either and get the same impression some other posters have.

Could you maybe go for Susannah? That’s nicer by far than Suzanne but very similar :)

Both dated, all those I know are in their 40/50’s except one sue who is 38, and she hates her name as everyone said she had a ‘mum’s name’ in school.

I love Jacqueline but I really dislike all of the shortenings so it would be Suzanne.

My DD has Susannah in her name. I think it's beautiful and so little used. Suzanne, on the other hand, is more utility late 60s early 70s in feel.
