Those are my girl/boy names. What do you think? I haven’t decided on middle names so would appreciate any suggestions.

Lucian is the English spelling and Lucien the French spelling

Sophronia · 07/02/2019 22:38

I like Viviana

Nanasueathome · 07/02/2019 19:03

I know an Italian Viviana, shortened to Vivi
Lovely

MikeUniformMike · 07/02/2019 18:53

Isn't it Lucian? I thought Lucien was a girl's name.
Viviana is a bit too long for my taste.

MumUnderTheMoon · 07/02/2019 16:19

I love lucien but I think Viviana is a bit fussy like Vivienne but trying too hard if I'm honest.

Rafabella · 07/02/2019 13:36

Love Lucian but prefer Vivienne.

MrsJane · 07/02/2019 13:16

They sound a bit pretentious and a bit like characters from a Harry Potter... 😬

tammytoby · 07/02/2019 12:58

I find Viviana much more elegant and pretty than Vivienne. I know a Bibiana, like that as well.

daisypond · 07/02/2019 12:31

I like both. Viviana is a bit frilly, though. I think Vivien or, at push, Vivienne, is nicer. I think Lucien is great.

meow1989 · 07/02/2019 11:10

Lucien I think would get mispronounced as "lou-shen" which would grate on me.

Personally prefer Vivienne but like vivvie as a nickname

Stinkytoe · 07/02/2019 11:04

Oh gosh, I hate them!

tammytoby · 07/02/2019 11:02

I know a few Luciens and Lucians and they're generally called by their full name. It's so easy to say! Lovely name.

hatethinkingofusernames · 07/02/2019 11:01

I much prefer Viviana to Vivienne!! It's much prettier. Vivvie is adorable. I also prefer Hugo to Lucien sorry OP x

I also prefer Vivienne to Viviana.
Not keen on Lucien, sorry. I'd go with Lucas instead.

Barbarafromblackpool · 07/02/2019 09:24

.*Lucien

Barbarafromblackpool · 07/02/2019 09:23

I like Lucian. It's a 'big' name though.
I know three Vivienes under 4, so that's back in fashion. They don't seem to get called Viv though.
I like the Bloomsbury group description!

tammytoby · 07/02/2019 08:57

Love both Viviana and Lucien! Beautiful classic interesting names - good luck!

Bumblebeesmum · 07/02/2019 08:29

I also thought it was a joke sorry ! Blush
But I think my opinions on names are way out of sync with Mumsnet trendies so I wouldn’t worry about me!

QuaterMiss · 06/02/2019 23:50

To me they sound like the sort of tremendously grown up siblings one might meet at a cocktail party in a Bloomsbury era novel. At a distance they appear intimidatingly glamorous and popular - but they invite you for a weekend at their down at heel manor house and you discover them to be shockingly kind and empathetic. They nurse you through bad times and become your lifelong, dearest friends ...

bridgetreilly · 06/02/2019 23:36

They both sound a bit pretentious to me, sorry. I much prefer Vivienne, who could still be Vivvie, and Luke over Lucien.

Didyeeaye · 06/02/2019 23:29

I really like Lucien but prefer Vivienne to Viviana

C0untDucku1a · 06/02/2019 23:00

We had Lucian on our name list.
Not keen on Viviana. Prefer Vivienne.

WalkersNonsuch · 06/02/2019 22:57

Ludo is a nice name!

How about Ludovic (Ludo)? One of my all time favourite names.
