What do you think of Beatrix? I’m torn... due day today so need to make some decisions. Alice is also a contender. Thank you.

Beatrix potter connection. beatrix potter books were the first books i loved to read which gave me a passion for literature. peter rabbit and little miss tiddywinkle are loved characters for toddlers and sharing her name with the creator of them when shes little will be awesome. beatrix lestrange literature connection when shes older maybe not so sweet

I love both names - had them both on my shortlist. Love Bea and Trixie as nn's. I'd also have Ally as nn for Alice. I put them in quite different name types though- Alice I think of as very flowery pretty feminine name where as Beatrix/Beatrice more quirky and alternative. Agree maybe just wait and meet her and see what feels right if your this close to her arrival.

I would have had Beatrix if DS had been a DD

KiplingAngelCake · 05/02/2019 16:37

I prefer Beatrice to Beatrix, but would choose Alice over either.

Love Beatrix. I know a 2 year old Beatrix who goes by Bee and Buzz which is cute and a bit quirky.

Alice is a bit meh

BowBeau · 05/02/2019 14:34

I like it!

RiverTam · 05/02/2019 14:33

both nice names, I would say Alice less common round my way, if that matters to you.

Sophronia · 05/02/2019 14:32

I like Beatrix, I think it’s more interesting than Alice.

Butterfly84 · 05/02/2019 13:51

Beatrix is amazing, a coutry mile nicer than Alice.

starkid · 05/02/2019 13:45

Beatrix is great :) Good luck for the next couple of days!

MikeUniformMike · 05/02/2019 12:00

I prefer Alice but both are fine.

VenusClapTrap · 05/02/2019 10:48

Prefer Alice. So many little Beas around at the moment.

thisismadness77 · 05/02/2019 09:48

Thanks all. Both sound fine with surname. Mumunder, Beatrix actually means bringer of Joy, which is just lovely. Long awaited 2nd child. :)

Love Beatrix!

Sugarpiehoneyeye · 05/02/2019 09:31

Love Alice, but don't dislike Beatrix. Both Bea/Trixie are cute nick names.

MumUnderTheMoon · 05/02/2019 09:21

I love the name Beatrix, Alice is great as well. I loved the idea of Beatrix Joy when I was expecting.

mumtobabygilrl · 05/02/2019 09:21

Both beautiful. Wait until DD is born and see what you think suits her best. We had two names and suddenly with DD in my arms one name just became the perfect choice

Astronica · 05/02/2019 08:51

I love both Beatrix and Alice. Does one sound better with the surname?

Disfordarkchocolate · 05/02/2019 08:48

I like them both but Alice is my favourite.

ChubsyMcChubFace · 05/02/2019 08:47

Love Beatrix! Not keen on Trixie as a nn, which is a risk if you dislike it too. Bea is lovely though.

Topofthehills · 05/02/2019 08:27

Love Beatrix, but I would be tempted by Beatrice to avoid Trixie.

Wingingthis · 05/02/2019 08:15

Nn *

Shadow1234 · 05/02/2019 03:21

Prefer Beatrice to Beatrix - sounds softer

HappyGoLuckyGo · 05/02/2019 01:32

I like both Beatrix and Alice, but prefer the spelling Beatrice. Lovely choices!
