If not Juliette. Any suggestions?

So after my last post about DP not being sure about Juliette as he hates the potential for possible DD (we don’t know the sex) to be nicknamed Julie.
Which nearly everyone agreed with me was extremely, if not completely unlikely.

I’m looking for any suggestions for alternatives. I still love Juliette so I find hard to think of anything else. Plus he hasn’t outright refused to use it yet.

DD1 has a long name so I feel like possible DD2 should be similar (I’ll post DD1s name in a separate comment).
I also prefer classic names but less common with a literary, Greek mythology or botantical reference.

So please, give me some inspiration 🙏🏻

My fantasy girl twins would be called Josephine and Juliet.

I have known a few Juliet/tes. None have been known as Julie.

I love Juliet. I have a friend called Juliet in her 50s. It is never shortened.In our family Helena is pronounced Heleena. (nn Lena). I also love Selene. Slightly biased- DD4 has it as her middle name.

I love Juliet ! There is a risk she’d become a Julie because let’s face it - what teen picks nicknames based on their parents generations tastes? But a child can butcher any name whatsoever if they want to & I can’t imagine anyone doing it whilst she’s small. So I vote Juliet !

Would you pronounce Helena Heleena?
It's pronounced like that in my family. It's also pronounced Helen-a (most usually) or Helaina. All are nice.

Thank you. I dont get his worry about Julie as I just can’t ever imagine it or have known if it being a likely shortening.
Not that we’re opposed to one, we always imagined DDs name would get shortened but it’s so far not happened.

If it does at school then fine but DD already has a strong opinion of what her name is and will correct us if we jokingly call her something else.

I like: Selena /Selina. Hadnt considered that one
Helena but only one form of the two of pronouncing it 😬
Genevieve but DP doesn’t like it

If DS had been a girl, he probably would have been Juliet or Maria.

Also love Miriam; Mimi / Miri as cute little girl nns, Mim / Mims for adult. Love it.

Juliet is much nicer than Juliette. I think the ette bit is very dated.
Penelope and Juliet go nicely together.

My brothers girls are called Victoria, Juliet, Genevieve & Verity. All beautiful names & I think go well together. FYI, Juliet is always called Jules.

I know a Juliet who is in my DS' class and nobody ever, ever shortens it.

Juliet. Easier to learn to spell and the double T is superfluous.
For literary classic girls names I don't think you can go wrong with Austen:

Some of the simplest classic names, some of which are very underused:
Jane
Mary
Anne
Lydia
Elinor
Marianne
Catherine
Elizabeth
Harriet
Henrietta
Isabella
Louisa
Margaret
Sophia

Also Georgiana but less classic: I'd go for Georgia or Georgina instead.

Juliet (prefer this spelling, unless you are French) is Shakespearean. So what about other Shakespeare names: Miranda, Helena, Rosalind, Cordelia, Hermione, Celia, Cressida...?

I agree with you, however, that Juliet/te is not particularly likely to be called Julie. The ones I've met have always been called by their full name. And parents can't control nicknames, anyway... once past a certain age, it's the choice of the child or of their friends.

Botanical and/or Greek: Laura, Fenella, Artemisia, Hebe, Amaryllis, Daphne...?
