Narrowing Down Girls List.......

So rather than narrowing down my girls name list I have been adding more options. To go with brothers Noah and Jacob.

Options are Pippa, Hallie and Matilda.

Matilda is the name I loved when I had my first son. Pippa is a diminutive of fathers name. And Hallie I heard recently and fell in love with it. Thanks.
Which do you prefer and why?

I love Hallie, actually the only one I like. Much more unusual.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 03/02/2019 13:16

Hallie is awful sorry. Reminds of the Radfords. Pippa is nice.

MikeUniformMike · 03/02/2019 13:12

Matilda is better matched to the siblings, in that they are all very popular names.
Philippa/Pippa is nice.
I don't like Hallie.

BabarKingoftheElephants · 03/02/2019 12:06

Matilda.
Or Hattie rather than Hallie.

BaronessShirleyWilliams · 03/02/2019 11:59

Is your dh called Philip? If so, I would find Philippa/Pippa quite tacky.

glitterbiscuits · 03/02/2019 11:47

I'd be unsure on how to pronounce Hallie. And it looks made up
If dad is called Philip then that rules out Philippa or Pippa

So, Matilda. Tilly is also a good diminutive

Awrite · 03/02/2019 11:37

I like Matilda the best.

Not keen on either Pippa or Hallie.

3in4years · 03/02/2019 11:35

Matilda and Pippa are nice but Tilly is not.

daisypond · 03/02/2019 11:30

Hallie doesn't seem to match your other DC names at all - it sticks out like a sore thumb. Holly would be better, but I'm not so keen on that either. I've grown to like Matilda, after not being too keen on it. So probably that. But I quite like Pippa as well.

BaronessShirleyWilliams · 03/02/2019 11:20

I would choose Hallie - then your three children all have names with different endings.

No-AH, Hall-IE and Jac-OB.

They feel like similar styles of name but sound completely different, so they can all have their own identity.

I also generally dislike girls’ names that are just boys’ names with ‘-a’, ‘-ina’ or ‘-ette’ added on at the end. I think they’re really ugly and unoriginal.

So Philippa, Martina, Bernadette, Thomasina, Wilhelmina. All hideous in my opinion.

Love Hallie and Matilda.

Hate Pippa - it’s my name and I have always hated it. My mother told me that she had been stuck between Pippa (Philippa) and Lucy. I’ve always wished she picked Lucy.
