Everyone I speak to thinks I’m crazy and it’s the hormones but I have always loved noun and verb names. The surname is very common and so I’ve always wanted their forename to stand out.

I love Rocket but DH has said I am mad. Other names I love are Tiger and Canon.

Please can I have any more suggestions of noun names that won’t make my DH think I’ve lost the plot

I actually love Bookcase and Duvet. Just sorry I won’t be having more kids and can’t use them.

Maybe I could be an overbearing mother in law in a few years and push for these ;-)

Until we had children, exH used to insist his offspring would be called Spigot and Fishfinger. Mercifully he changed his mind just in time. So they're still up for grabs if anyone wants 'em.

I've just looked a few up - they also had names like Guillotine, Commune, Hammer...and Shift - there's a name to bring joy into your heart.

They might be dated in Russia, but they're fresh and modern here. How about Sputnik?

In post-revolutionary Russia there was a craze for revolutionary names - so things like Tractor or Dynamite. Maybe there was Rocket as well, I don't know. But they've all dated badly now.

Canon is a bit bonkerz.

I do like Rocket...but kids don't always live up to their names. I know a really miserable Joy. Rocket is going to be really slow.

Rocket? Like the salad leaf? I know a Jet. Canon like the member of the clergy or the great works of English literature? Or Cannon like the gun? How about Kit instead of Tiger? Or other nature names might work - some are quite established - River, Heath, etc.
