Hey,

Expecting first baby in a few months and we do not know the sex.

DP and I can only agree on girls names and have our top 3 sorted.

As for boys names we have a few that we like but don't love.

Please say your favourite girls and boys names from our list (feel free to suggest boys names)

Willow
Poppy
Isla

Theo
Jacob
Hugo
Loui
Hudson
Harvey
Austin
Beau (surname begins with a B though)

Willow - my favourite of your girls names
Poppy - too cutesy. I dont thinj it ages well
Isla - they are literally everywhere here

Theo - ok, prefer Theodore
Jacob - lovely, my favourite on your list
Hugo - its nice enough
Loui- no
Hudson - no
Harvey- ok, a bit cutesy on an adult
Austin - meh
Beau - cute on the under 10s, doesnt age well though. I struggle to imagine a 50 year old ageing man called Beau being taken seriously

I will suggest Joshua and Zachary

MamaDane · 31/01/2019 06:05

Willow and Jacob.
Isla is nice too though.

Not keen on the rest.

moredoll · 31/01/2019 06:02

Willow - like it
Poppy - like it
Isla - like it

Theo - meh
Jacob - like it
Hugo - have always disliked it
Loui - like it (spelt Louis)
Hudson - don't like it
Harvey - not for a human
Austin - don't like it
Beau - sort of like it. 'B' worked for Beau Brummell.

umpteennamechanges · 31/01/2019 04:36

Willow - what if she's not 'willowy'? Bit insipid for me
Poppy - a Labrador
Isla - love

Theo - overdone
Jacob - like
Hugo - love
Loui - surely it's Louis? Not keen
Hudson - a river
Harvey - hate, makes me think of Katie Price
Austin - quite American
Beau (surname begins with a B though) - hate, will date terribly

Astronica · 31/01/2019 03:41

Poppy and Hugo.

After these, Willow, and Theo and Louis (this spelling).

notangelinajolie · 31/01/2019 01:16

Poppy

Hugo

Pemba · 31/01/2019 01:14

Willow is quite nice. Poppy is cute, but doesn't really work in other countries. Often it means 'grandad' or 'daddy' in some European countries, and even some areas of the US, and probably has other weird meanings. It's very little-girly anyway. Isla is OK, a bit dull, and so overused at the moment there'd probably be a few in the class.

Jacob and Louis (spelled like that) are fantastic names, I really like them, also quite like Theo.

Hudson is awful (big cold river near New York), also boys' names ending in 'son' are stupid, it's obviously a surname meaning 'Hud's son'. Beau is more awful, sounds like some cheesy character in 'Gone with the Wind', also means 'handsome', a lot for the poor kid to live up to.

Ribbonsonabox · 31/01/2019 00:51

Willow and Hugo

Lycanthropology · 31/01/2019 00:45

Isla I like

And Louis (spelt and pronounced correctly)

And possibly Theo.

Didyeeaye · 30/01/2019 20:34

Willow and Hugo are my favourites also really like Isla and Theo but they are very popular atm

Redcrayonisthebest · 30/01/2019 20:30

Willow and Jacob

pilates · 30/01/2019 20:26

Poppy and Jacob

IAmWonderWoman · 30/01/2019 20:02

Isla and Theo.

Really don’t like Poppy, it’s twee and irritating.

MollyHuaCha · 30/01/2019 19:57

Willow - ok
Poppy - no, not good for a grown woman
Isla - nice

Theo - nice
Jacob - nice
Hugo - like
Loui - Louis pronounced Lou-ee is nice
Hudson - awful
Harvey - awful
Austin - awful
Beau - the worst one on here

DramaAlpaca · 30/01/2019 19:54

I only like Isla from your girls' list. I detest Poppy as it's twee & silly sounding.

Austin is my favourite from your boys' list. Beau my least favourite.

RuthW · 30/01/2019 17:19

Willow - love it
Poppy - ok
Isla- ok but do you want to be one of about 5 in a class?

silverliningsa · 30/01/2019 17:16

Willow - ok
Poppy - ok
Isla - like

Theo - like but lots around
Jacob - like
Hugo - like
Loui - like if spelt Louis
Hudson - no
Harvey - no
Austin - ok
Beau (surname begins with a B though) - ok

starkid · 30/01/2019 16:48

RatherBeRiding · 30/01/2019 16:18

I like all of your girl names but in order:
Willow
Poppy
Isla (becoming very popular)

Love Jacob and Austen. Not keen on Harvey or Hudson (surnames?). The others are all fine apart from Beau which I don't think would go very well with a surname beginning with B. Beau Brummell and all that.

Parthenope · 30/01/2019 16:15

Theo and Jacob much the best from your boys' list. I don't care much for any of your girls'. but Isla at a push.

And Hudson and Beau are godawful.

abcriskringle · 30/01/2019 16:14

Willow is lovely. Really like Jacob too.

schopenhauer · 30/01/2019 16:13

Poppy and Hugo or Louis if spelt like that. Can’t bear surnames myself, I’m sure in 10-15 years they will be very dated.

Imperfectsusan · 30/01/2019 16:08

Isla and Jacob.

tammytoby · 30/01/2019 14:46

Willow and Louie

Shadow1234 · 30/01/2019 14:36

Willow and Hudson.

Lincoln
Lewis
Harris
