Argh, I'm stuck and looking for some inspiration please.

I have a DS called Harris, 2 years after we named him there is a Harris every where I turn. Just found out we are having a DS2. I had my heart set on Struan but they are popping up all over the place.

We are toying over Angus and Innes but not really loving either as much.

Any thoughts? Smile

We have a Murdo. Currently pregnant with 2nd child, had planned Bruce or Fergus if it was a boy. Just found out it is a girl and really struggling to find a name as good as Murdo!!!

Do you have a Mc/Mac surname?

I think Lachlan is what you’re looking for, it’s of the same ilk as Strachan. It would go nicely with your surname too.

Love this thread. Scottish boys' names are so gorgeous.

CountFosco · 29/01/2019 20:23

or “make it Orkney” with

Magnus

No, no, no only people from Orkney and Shetland can use the name Magnus. It's getting far too popular on these boards. Unless you're happy with the nn Mansie just NO.

Love Thorfinn as well, although tell non-islanders it's the name of the deatheater HP fights in the cafe in Tottenham Court Road.

MumUnderTheMoon · 29/01/2019 20:20

Some of my favourite Scottish names for boys.
Wallace
Campbell
Lennox
Alastair
Banner

MikeUniformMike · 29/01/2019 20:06

Clyde is rather nice.

IVflytrap · 29/01/2019 19:54

Lorne
Neil / Niall - unusual on children these days.
Ranald - I met a toddler Ranald a little while ago. It suited him really well.
Thorfinn is an Orkney name I love. Just throwing it out there. Grin

Magnus sounds really good with your surname.

FurzeandHarebells · 29/01/2019 19:24

margaritasbythesea · 29/01/2019 19:04

Gregor Brodie sounds good. Love Gregory.

Didyeeaye · 29/01/2019 19:00

I love Clyde as a boys name. Although, I live in Glasgow so couldn't call my child it lol My DS is Malachi it's not a Scottish name but Irish.
How about Ruan, Glen, Gordon, Lachlan, Fraser, Cailean, Dougal, Duncan, Euan,
Kyle or Lyle?
