I bet there's a glut of Cersei's, Aria's, Brienne and Sansa's appearing in classrooms up and down the globe

There's a Circe (same pronunciation I think) in DC's school, and a friend named her daughter Arya.

QueenOfTheAndals · 26/01/2019 19:48

Ptolemy!

Scandaloso · 26/01/2019 19:41

Connemara?!

That would be like calling a child Cotswold.

AnxiousMcAnxiousFace · 26/01/2019 19:35

Connemara in full. Not shortened.

umpteennamechanges · 26/01/2019 19:21

@sixlittlewitches I know someone called Chase 🙋🏻‍♀️

In his late 30s, double barrel surname and quite posh. I think it's a reasonably common name in the US(?)

He's English though...

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 26/01/2019 19:15

Not playgroup, but nursery...

Zika
Harrisyn
Chloee

Scandaloso · 26/01/2019 19:11

LuggsaysNotaWomen tbh I found her such a boring character I wouldn't be tempted to go for either! Grin But I can kind of see that at least Khaleesi is easier for someone who's never heard of GoT to pronounce compared to Daenerys. I wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce Daenerys if I was encountering it for the first time.

Now I'm wondering if there are any little Joffreys out there...

Nameenthusiast · 26/01/2019 19:07

I’m so glad this thread has taken off! Some beautiful names here and some slightly more...unusualGrin but I find the names people choose for their children absolutely fascinating.

My friend had a GodGiven in her form class. She always said she would have to desperately try not to say something like "Well God can not be found anywhere in school today" when they were absent.

leesmum · 26/01/2019 19:03

Tevez ....as in the footballer 😆

Lipsticktraces · 26/01/2019 19:03

I know an Atlas and a Roux. I think their names really suit them thoughSmile

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 26/01/2019 19:01

I guess Scadaloso, but why you wouldn't plump for Daenerys is beyond me.

I bet there's a glut of Cersei's, Aria's, Brienne and Sansa's appearing in classrooms up and down the globe. At least they are actual names rather than Honorifics though.

twattymctwatterson · 26/01/2019 18:54

Laughing at Clayton not being a real name. It's a perfectly ordinary (if not common) name. I know two (Scotland).

Scandaloso · 26/01/2019 18:54

I'd bet there's far more than 2 Khaleesis in existence. Character names (okay it's her title!) from the biggest fantasy hit of the day are always a thing.

Ribbonsonabox · 26/01/2019 18:49

Guinevere
Ophelia
Flora
Raven
Undine

Florian
Bodhi
Phoenix
Jasper
Adder
Bab

Genuine names from toddlers round here

LuggsaysNotaWomen · 26/01/2019 18:48

@MyBreadIsEggy - I know a Khaleesi too!

Jesus suffering Christ there can't be two, surely?!

BiggFactHunt · 26/01/2019 18:44

CocoMadwoman

This is going back 8 or 9 years now, but my DD’s toddler group was a sea of little girls with similar names - Isabel, Isabella, Annabel, Ava, Eva, Evie etc

And one little boy called.....Jock grin

I know an 7/8yr old Jock! Maybe there’s 2 of them!

erja · 26/01/2019 18:41

I've come across a Dandi (girl), Lloyd (boy), Percy (girl) and an Apollo (boy)!

Chriss82 · 26/01/2019 18:38

Cupcake! (Girl)

And we've been stressing as our DD is called Alexa and thanks to amazon the name has a whole new meaning. However reading some of the names on here I feel relaxed about it!
