Asa.

Love it, and Noah is ten a penny here nowadays. Definitely a fad which has been done to death.

Every soft play here is like the Ark...Noah, get dahn 'ere Noah ya little sod.

babyworry2018 · 24/01/2019 08:49

If I heard Asa, I would assume evangelical Christian. That's the only context I've heard the name.

Noah I feel is v overused.

If you are evangelical Christian and don't mind people being able to guess that, or don't care either way, I'd go with Ada but in reality I'd probably go for an in-between biblical name in terms of popularity.

HowlsMovingBungalow · 24/01/2019 08:42

Asa.

Lovely unusual but solid name.

Shadow1234 · 24/01/2019 08:41

Asa is a great name, Noah is a bit dull for me .

Marcipex · 24/01/2019 08:23

The only Asa I've ever known would escape from his 1-1 and terrorise the infant classes.
so, Noah.

waterlego · 24/01/2019 08:18

Both are lovely but Asa is superb. I once taught a Canadian boy named Asa and he was lovely.

autumnkate · 24/01/2019 08:16

If you choose Noah, will you be annoyed every time you meet another one? I doubt you will ever meet another Asa.

AfricaBlue · 24/01/2019 08:12

Yes, pronounced Ace-a. I really love it. Thank you for the comments, still torn!

Asa is a great name but I know as horrible little boys in school we'd have definitely called him ass man a few times

tammytoby · 24/01/2019 07:57

Asa definitely.

Noah sounds like a whiny No and is so dull.

gentlyscented · 24/01/2019 07:57

How is asa pronounced? Ay-sa or ace-a

comebacksoonsusan · 24/01/2019 07:50

Asa

NameChanger22 · 24/01/2019 07:49

Noah. It has always been one of my favourite names. Asa is a bit weird and kids will call him Ass.

MyFriendGoo5 · 24/01/2019 07:47

Asa is also a biblical name, for anyone thinking it isn't a name.

It is.

MyFriendGoo5 · 24/01/2019 07:46

Asa.

It's a lovely, gentle name.

YouSetTheTone · 24/01/2019 07:44

I love Asa and had it on my list but DH vetoed Sad
I used to really dislike Noah but it has grown on me a lot. Depends how brave you feel really- they’re both good names but as pp said very different in terms of familiarity.
Do either ‘go’ better with surname?

Picknickers · 23/01/2019 23:44

Asa hands down.

JacksonPillock · 23/01/2019 23:43

Asa is cool and unusual without being trendy. Noah is overused and boring.

Sophronia · 23/01/2019 23:36

Definitely Asa!

FlagFish · 23/01/2019 22:25

This is a difficult choice in that one is very popular at the moment and the other is very obscure! Personally I’d go for something in the middle, but out of these two, I’d say Noah.

HTKS · 23/01/2019 22:23

Asa is lovely.

DramaAlpaca · 23/01/2019 22:23

Asa, mainly because I can't stand Noah.

autumnkate · 23/01/2019 22:21

Love Asa. I always suggest it! I’ve only ever taught one in 14 years of teaching.
