Please give your honest opinions. Pregnant with twin boys stuck on names that are pairs and middle names. Want to go with something 'cool' but not 'chavy'. Please give opinions.

Max
Leo
Rory
Brodie
Dylan
Flynn
Arlo
Otis
Frankie
Luca

Max and Leo are a good set without being matchy!
Other names you may like?
Seb (Sebastian)
Asher
Joe
Jude
Ezra
Milo
Billy

SavageBeauty73 · 24/01/2019 08:22

I like Dylan and Max

Strugglingtodomybest · 24/01/2019 08:18

No one would seriously call twins Leo and Rory would they?!

Lastbustowhitehawk · 24/01/2019 08:16

I like Max and Leo but am really just here to express my relief that you're not planning on naming your boys Rate and Slate 😂 (Given the suggestions you sometimes see on here it wouldn't be beyond the realms of the possible...)

minisoksmakehardwork · 24/01/2019 08:09

Out of your list here's my association.
Max
Leo
Rory - the racing car or Amy Pond from Dr Who's husband.
Brodie
Dylan
Flynn - Rider (tangled)
Arlo - the good dinosaur
Otis - Reading
Frankie - goes to Hollywood
Luca

Twin boys I know of.
Thomas and Matthew
Ollie and Fraser
Fred and George (seriously).

Famous twin boys, well. One of the pair might be famous...
Will and Rupert (Young)
Mark and Paul (Vin Diesel and twin)
Ashton and Michael (Kutcher)
Dylan and Cole (Sprouse)
Robin and Maurice (Gibb)

wiki help to continue that list.

It might be worth suggesting names to avoid as a pair too.

Michael and Jackson
Reggie and Ronnie

Personally I think Liam and Luke (as in Hemsworth non twin brothers) goes together quite well and could be called either way round. Same with Edward and Henry but it depends on how traditional a person you are and whether you would associate with Jekyll and Hyde.

Connor and Lucas/Lucas and Connor

I do feel for you. I found naming boys so much harder than our girls. Our twins are boy/girl so no help other than twin boy has Joshua and Joseph for names. They run together well, but it might be too much to name two separate boys and both could be shortened to Joe which might be a problem when they are a lot older and in separate classes and careers.

Rory and Flynn

Happyandshiney · 24/01/2019 07:46

I’m a twin Mum.

Don’t pick names that rhyme or alliterate.

Don’t pick names that sound like a set (eg Leo and Rory - both lion names)

We also did what Doodle suggested - first twin’s name is layer in the alphabet.

The most important thing is that you can shout both names together without them running into one.

You also need names which don’t sound the same when shouted from a distance otherwise neither child will ever come when called. Grin

anniehm · 24/01/2019 07:41

Remember cool now could be a joke later. Traditional never goes out of fashion .

doodlejump1980 · 24/01/2019 07:40

Mum of twin boys here. Ours have strong names that work either way round, so it’s not always A and B it works as B & A as well. Wee tip we were told, name the first one lower down the alphabet than the second-born twin, the first will always have the “I’m older than you” crap, but the second born will get on the school/whatever register first. Little victories! (So my twin1 begins with R, twin2 begins with L) Are yours going to be identical or fraternal? Ours are fraternal. Born at 37+6, weighing 7lbs5 and 6lbs4! Yeouch! Good luck!

pilates · 24/01/2019 07:39

Love Rory 💕
Rory and Jack if I had twin boys

YouSetTheTone · 24/01/2019 07:33

Love Leo and Rory.
And they have a similar vibe without sounding ‘matchy’.

MrsFoxPlus4 · 24/01/2019 01:48

Flynn is a great name!

Picknickers · 23/01/2019 23:48

Leo and Rory are great.

Sophronia · 23/01/2019 22:49

I like Max and Leo as a pair.

GroggyLegs · 23/01/2019 22:09

Leo
Max
Rory
Flynn

I also like Finn & Rex.

eachtigertires · 23/01/2019 22:03

From your list my favourite two are Frankie (as a nickname for Francis though) and Luca.

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 23/01/2019 22:02

Rhyming names are not cool, so I'd steer clear of Rate and Slate (although Slate is a great name). Wink

I like all of them except Brodie, although Frankie sounds like a girl's name to me which might cause issues (DS had a name that was more common as a girl's name and his passport was issued as the wrong sex, even though 'male' had been ticked on the form). Max is a great name, but there are three of them in DD's class (she's 10) so it's pretty popular. I particularly like Flynn and Arlo together.

FlagFish · 23/01/2019 21:57

I’d go with Max and Rory from your list.

Astronica · 23/01/2019 21:55

Not Brodie and especially not Bohdi if you don't want a 'chavvy' name.
And not Arlo and Otis together as a pp said because it immediately references the film Milo and Otis. I'm not keen on Arlo (very trendy and a bit weak sounding), Dylan and Frankie. Luca only works well with Italian surname and background for me.

I love Max, Leo, Rory and Flynn - though I prefer Finn. It doesn't worry me that some of these have been popular for a while as they are such good names. My favourite pair is Rory and Leo, but any 2 out of this 4 (or Finn) would be great I think.

Flynn and Otis. Smile

tammytoby · 23/01/2019 20:48

I like Otis. How about Quinn?

LipstickHandbagCoffee · 23/01/2019 20:26

Really?can’t see how Bodhi =Bo-Dee. I wouldn’t have seen that pronunciation coming

youmeandconchitawurst · 23/01/2019 20:26

Both Rate and Slate sound great!

t1mum3 · 23/01/2019 20:24

I thought about calling my twin boys Arlo and Otis but a long time ago now! I decided it was a bit "try hard" especially as a pair. Of your list I'd probably go with Max and Leo. Prefer Finn to Flynn and think Finn and Rory sound quite good. Congratulations. Twin boys rock.
