Which baby name?

Just trying to see what you guys think of these:

Eleonora or Genevieve.

Im told Eleonora is an italian variation and Genevieve is french. Although that isnt really why I picked these, I just really like them.

Im having trouble picking between them, I just keep going back and forth. Which one do you like best and why?

I definitely think the pronunciation will change from person to person and since most will probably be English speakers the English pronunciation will most likely be the most common

Eleonora is too flouncy and people won't spell it correctly. I'm not wild about Genevieve, but it's OK, it could grow on me. I think you'll have to pronounce it the English way unless you've got French connections.

Since I’ve outed myself already..those are my children’s names! Except they are just Eve and Eliana (Ellie). Both named after me and my late sister! Grin love this thread lol!

Oh my goodness! I’m totally outing myself here but that’s my name and my late sisters name although it was Eleanor!

Genevieve by a million miles. Beautiful, classy name in both English and French. Thousands of nickname potentials too.

Genevieve for me, I don't mind the English pronunciation.

Eleonora just seems to have one syllable too many. Also she might get the hideous Nora as a diminutive, which puts me right off it.

Genevieve is gorgeous, it's been on my list for a while. The only one I know of is shortened to Viva so that's a possibility (or Vivi) if you dislike Jen nicknames

Genevieve is lovely. I like Eleonora too but I think a lot of people will spell it Eleanora (going by most of the previous posts!)

I prefer Genevieve and I prefer the English pronunciation. It’s really fresh and interesting. Eleanora is pretty but I know so many Eleanors that it would put me off a bit.
