I've read other threads recently about initials, but still really torn about this.

I'm going to have a little boy in the next few months. My three year old is called Callum. His name fit my criteria of being: easy to pronounce and spell; not so common that he'd be one of six in the same class, not so unusual that people would laugh at him, only nickname I could think of is Cal which I think is pretty cool. Plus I just love the sound of Callum. So I'm looking for something that fits the same criteria for this baby. We love Benjamin. Benji for a baby, Ben when he gets older. But my surname starts with J so his initials would be BJ. Does it matter?

Can you give him a middle name so it's BAJ for instance.

Tbh I would notice initials spelling BJ and I think most classmates would when he is a school. We had a nephew whose name was going to spell FAG and they changed it round to avoid this.

Not if you love the name, it's not as if it is his first and second name to make a BJ moniker he would be known by. How often do we just use out first and last name initial - vary rarely when you think about it.
I love the name Caleb but understand if it is too 'matchy'.
