What where/are your Grandmothers called?

Mine were Elizabeth and Hilda. One is a great name that I'd use, the other not so much.

And back another generation and we have a load of Johns, Williams, Charles, Katherines and Marys. Often within the same generation. Charles William and William Charles, etc. Not much imagination (or more likely not much literacy, they were miners).

Miriam and Barbara. Great Aunts were Freda, Vera and Evelyn (pronounces Ev-lin, not Eve-lin).

I’d reuse Miriam out of that lot, none of the others!

Grandfathers/great uncles were John (known as Jack), Douglas, Oswald and Bernard. I don’t see many of them coming back into fashion either, but I still think that about Arthur.

I'm named after both my grandmothers (first and middle names) so would be a bit too outing to say what they are.

Suffice to say, I was given my first name (at least) a generation too early, so it was desperately old-fashioned. It's now really popular, and has been mentioned a few times on this thread.
