Opinions on this name? Is it too associated with the dreaded Peppa?

Modern Family is my first thought.

HippyChickMama · 18/01/2019 15:13

My first thought was Pepper Walker from Cry Baby! I quite like it but I think Peppa Pig has ruined it as an actual name.

Hersetta427 · 18/01/2019 15:07

One of my friends has a dog called Pepper. To be honest I think its even a poor name for a dog, yet alone a human. How about Paprika??

twoundertwo54321 · 18/01/2019 15:05

I don't get this. Not a name. Sorry.

BrightStarrySky · 18/01/2019 13:41

I think she would be teased, ‘where’s the salt? Pass the pepper?’

popcornwizard · 18/01/2019 13:40

Pippa would be better.

Indigochi · 18/01/2019 13:37

Not a good idea!

Pepper
explodingkitten · 18/01/2019 13:19

As a secret family nickname at home? Sure, I'm called mouse. As a real name on a birth certificate or at school? Absolutely not, your child will be bullied unless you are a famous hollywood moviestar.

SoupDragon · 18/01/2019 13:13

You can't be serious, surely!

rededucator · 18/01/2019 13:12

Pepper is an extremely flamboyant gay guy in Modern Family

SillySallySingsSongs · 18/01/2019 13:10

Just no. Sorry.

Inktank · 18/01/2019 13:07
Hmm
Stinkytoe · 18/01/2019 12:24

Pepper Potts isn’t a terrible namesake

Props Pig is though, sorry

Indigochi · 18/01/2019 12:21

Not a good name choice at all

Pepper
TatianaLarina · 18/01/2019 12:19

Pepper is def a pet’s name but it could work as a nn.

Could you call her Pepita? Perdita? Petronella?

MumUnderTheMoon · 17/01/2019 17:28

I love it

CantWaitToRetire · 17/01/2019 16:51

My brother's dog is called Pepper. I really wouldn't consider it for a child because of the associate with Peppa Pig. Kids can be horrid to each other both in primary and secondary if they have something like this to tag on to.

cariadlet · 17/01/2019 16:48

Nice name for a dog.

Not so much for a child.

Confusedbeetle · 17/01/2019 16:45

Please think about your child navigating school. make their life as easy as you can. A name they can spell and that will not attract any teasing or bullying

Confusedbeetle · 17/01/2019 16:43

Knew a horse called Pepper and a dog also

CruCru · 17/01/2019 16:33

I know girls called Sorrel, Saffron and Bluebell. Pepper isn’t so different.

CruCru · 17/01/2019 16:32

I actually think Pepper is okay.

CarolDanvers · 17/01/2019 15:49

@RiverTam. Well I don't think I said he wouldn't know who she was did I? I said he didn't "instantly associate" it with that character as was claimed by a previous poster.

MycatsaPirate · 17/01/2019 15:39

One of the dogs across the road from us is called Pepper.

Go with Pippa or Piper.

Please don't name your child after a condiment.

goldengummybear · 17/01/2019 15:35

The kid will have people oinking at her regularly.
