Hi,

Considering this name for my newborn DD. Interested to know how most people would spell this without being told, and are some versions more typically used for a boy rather than a girl?

Really not sure what the usual spelling is and not keen to give her a name she has to spell out her whole life. I'm in Surrey if it helps.

Thanks

Schuyler.

pixilatedpenguin · 17/01/2019 12:10

It’s a surname isn’t it? But Schuyler is the best spelling

SlowOx · 17/01/2019 11:53

Schuyler

MikeUniformMike · 17/01/2019 11:14

I wouldn't use any of those names. They seem a bit downmarket.
Skye isn't too bad.

FaceLikeAPairOfTits · 17/01/2019 09:18

Schuyler for me too.

MarchInHappiness · 17/01/2019 09:15

Only got to pg1 and the word chavvy was mentioned Hmm

How you can judge a kid on its name is beyond me.

I really like the name Skylar

SuchAToDo · 17/01/2019 09:00

I’ve just googled the name “Skyla” Don’t call your child Skyla! Google it

I've just googled it too... definitely agree with you

ragged · 16/01/2019 21:56

I met a nice 17yr old one the other day (male). Wealthy parents. Chav Not.

Madamfrog · 16/01/2019 21:51

Schuyler

horsesheep · 15/01/2019 21:45

Someone I know is pregnant and naming they're baby 'skylaa'

snowybird1 · 15/01/2019 21:23

Bit chavtastic but if I had to, I would go with Skyler.

Lilmisskittykat · 14/01/2019 23:21

@ILoveMaxiBondi I had too google... and now agree not Skyla

strawberrypenguin · 14/01/2019 23:08

Skylar. Very pretty OP, congratulations on your new DD.

BertieBotts · 14/01/2019 22:38

Skylar. Maybe Skyler - definitely not Skyla or Skylah.

SemperIdem · 14/01/2019 22:37

Skylar would be the most obvious spelling, I think.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 14/01/2019 22:37

I’ve just googled the name “Skyla”

Don’t call your child Skyla! Google it.

PerfectPeony · 14/01/2019 22:35

*obvious

PerfectPeony · 14/01/2019 22:35

This name only reminds me of breaking bad!

If you’d like to use it, I think I’d go with the most obviously spelling which would be Skylar?

NotANotMan · 14/01/2019 22:34

It's really not a very nice name but if you must, skylar

LemonadePockets · 14/01/2019 22:34

Skyla I would spell it. Skylar and Skyler are the American versions, one is male and one is female (Unsure of which is which)

I think it’s a lovely name. X

BackforGood · 14/01/2019 22:32

and not keen to give her a name she has to spell out her whole life

Then, in all honesty, I'd avoid this name. Whichever way you choose, she'll ave to spell it out for people, and put up with it being written differently from the way you choose, all her life.

ILoveMaxiBondi · 14/01/2019 22:26

We’ll theyre two different names.

I would assume Skylar was spelt Skylar and Skyla was spelt Skyla.

Littlebird88 · 14/01/2019 22:24

Skylar for sure

elephantoverthehill · 14/01/2019 22:21

none of the above

Shadow1234 · 14/01/2019 22:19

I dont mind the Skyla or Skylar spelling. Not keen on other two options
