Actually the pronunciation would work quite well with an Irish accent.

My DS has an Irish name that can be spelled several ways. After he was born we handed the midwife a list of the various spellings and asked her to read them. The one that sounded vaguely like his actual name was the one we went with!

If you love it, and you're already picturing her with that name - stick with it. You'll have regrets otherwise, and MIL will come round

Ah if you’re Irish go for it, it’d be butchered by most English accents though

It's a gaelic Irish name so in our accent it wouldn't be pronounced as "fear"

It's fee-ah like the ending of Sofia

When I picture myself with her I know she is a Fiadh

I love it MIL hates it and refuses to refer to the baby whom will be here in a few weeks as it! We've literally been calling her it since we found out at 16 weeks she is a girl! Now I'm having doubts
