Do you know how to pronounce Zosia?

I love this name for a girl but I’m worried it would get mispronounced a lot.

Thanks Smile

I have taught Zosia and Gosia and both introduced themselves as "zosha" and "gosha" with a short O as a PP said. One was 2nd gen but Gosia deffo Polish so think it's sort of authentic!

ThisIsNotARealAvo · 28/12/2018 22:30

In polish its Zosha, and I think it is short for Zophia.

MaisyPops · 28/12/2018 22:29

I would have said zoh-zee-ah if I first saw the name.

I have a horrible feeling that's probably miles out.

HoratioNightboy · 28/12/2018 22:28

I've never heard of it before but if I met one, I'd ask how it's pronounced. If I had to take a stab at it I'd go for ZOH-see-a, in an enquiring tone.

shaggedthruahedgebackwards · 28/12/2018 22:26

It's not a name I've come across before so I would probably have guessed Zoh-Zee-ah

Judging from several of the replies I would be wrong!

Zo_sha

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 28/12/2018 22:23

The one I know is pronounced Zo sha with a short o like the o in bottle. I know a Gosia whose name rhymes with it, Go sha.

ThatPeskyElf · 28/12/2018 22:20

Zor-sha

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 28/12/2018 22:19

Zoh-see-ya.

TheCheeseAlarm · 28/12/2018 22:19

Zosha - like Zosia on Holby City

AnotherOriginalUsername · 28/12/2018 22:16

Zosha

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 28/12/2018 22:16

A friend just named her baby Zosia (her dh is Polish). We pronounce it “Zo-sha” which is probably a bit anglicised. She seems to be becoming known as Zosh or Zoshie.

WhenLifeGivesYouLemonsx · 28/12/2018 22:16

There was a girl at my work with that name and it was pronounced as "Zo-zee-a"

neddle · 28/12/2018 22:15

Zoh-see-a?

EspressoPatronum · 28/12/2018 22:14

I taught one once, we said 'zosha' but I'm not 100% sure that's right?
