Nye vs Huw

Looking for a welsh name for a baby boy which will be brought up in England.

Front runners are Huw or Nye (we would put aneurin on birth certificate but would use nn of Nye most of the time).

What do people think? Any other suggestions welcomed x

Huw is really lovely. 100% this.

Nye also makes me think of New Years' Eve. I want to say Niall as well when I read it.

ForAMinuteThere - Please think before you type. Welsh is the first language of many people on Mumsnet, please don't insult our names.

Stillamum3 · 18/12/2018 22:49

Have you thought of Rhys?

Aneurin does sound a bit like headache medication though :/

Actually never really noticed Nye in all the years of baby name hunting, but I really like that. It's cool!

Thanks - hadn't really made the connection myself! But you are right does autocorrect! Food for thought!

I prefer Huw.
NYE just makes me think of New Year’s Eve. Even my phone auto corrects it!
