How would you shorten Theodore?

Teddy or Theo?

DH and I can't agree. To go with a single syllable colour surname.

Is Teddy an American shortening then? I was thinking along the lines of Roosevelt, and there's a Teddy in Little Women.

(you know he will mainly be called "sausage" "pudding" "niblet" etc and his name will be relatively rarely used.

I've met approx. 50 + Theodores and not one of them has ever been a Teddy, they are always Theo.

Theodora is shortened to Dora so I think I would try out Dorry as a nick name.

Teddy when young the Ted or Theo when older. Just mix it up.

Theo Black sounds better than Teddy Black, but Teddy White sounds really good...
