Any names to go with Betty? Either with Betty as the first name or middle name. Also open to any slight adaptations of Betty e.g. Betsy etc

Thanks!

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 28/12/2018 12:02

(I love the name Betty btw, I have two guinea pigs - Betty and Peggy!)

Superpooper · 28/12/2018 11:41

I’d use elisabeth and shorten to Betty as a nickname if it’s going to be her first name. It should help with the flow of names too as Betty is hard to link I think.

Pottytoes · 28/12/2018 11:38

I do like Betty Lou or Betty Jean . It's cool in an retro American way

Cookit · 28/12/2018 11:30

Oh I like Betty.

Personally I’d use Elizabeth, but that’s me.

I think a longer middle name-

Betty Francesca
Betty Madeleine
Betty Isobel
Betty Catherine
Betty Rosanna

Bethany (betty) Bernice

MumUnderTheMoon · 28/12/2018 10:26

What about Beth or Bess?

Raglansleeve · 20/12/2018 12:37

Eleanor Betsy
Winifred Betsy

3 syllable first names seem to go well with Betsy/Betty as a middle name.

Catherine Betsy
Madeleine Betsy
Adeline Betsy
Miriam Betsy

I’d use it as a middle name, or use Elizabeth as a first name and call DD Betty, if she then decides she doesn’t like it she has options.

Elizabeth as a first name may give you more middle name options 😊

I don't like the name, but if I had to choose, then Betty Lou. Smile

Grannyannex · 16/12/2018 22:59

Much prefer Betty to Betsy which sounds like a rabbit's name to me. Also, most names can get horrible nns if kids think hard enough! My sis in law's mum is Betty. I asked sis in law what mn was and if Betty was short for anything. She was named Betty Anna on bc.

Ohyesiam · 16/12/2018 22:14

Don’t worry about things not going with s middle name, because they roll only be on medical notes and legal papers. I’ve nebrr had my middle name used alone or in conjunction with my first.
She might choose to go by her second name, but it still wouldn’t need to go with her first name.

Mwnci123 · 16/12/2018 22:10

Also, I like Betsan.

Mwnci123 · 16/12/2018 22:10

Prefer Betsy to Betty. Would go for Elizabeth if using it as a first name though, as both Betsy and Betty sound a bit too familiar for formal, grown-up stuff.

Flamingosnbears · 16/12/2018 19:10

Eliza Betty
Betty Louise

ShiningSally · 16/12/2018 19:00

Lilly Bette
Lilly Beth
