Like both. I’ve heard of Remy as a girls name, i didn't know it was a boys name though Confused

Romy is more classic and beautiful. Remy sounds too Kardashian for me

Cazastrophe · 20/12/2018 00:44

Remy/ Rémi is a French boy’s name.
Romy sounds like roomy - like an adjective...same as Romily.
How about Lorelei?

MrsFoxPlus4 · 18/12/2018 14:35

I know a Romanna called Rom :)

ChikiTIKI · 17/12/2018 19:52

Do you like Ramara? I know someone with this name. People call her Romi :)

MrsFoxPlus4 · 17/12/2018 17:24

Oh don’t be sorry, I have a soft spot for the name & variations ❤️

Jenny70 · 17/12/2018 13:51

My nephew is Remi, but everyone else I have heard of with that name is a girl, and most people think it's odd for a boy (ie. think of it as girls name by default). We're in Oz, so maybe that is some of the difference in viewpoint?

I really love Romy

TatianaLarina · 17/12/2018 13:28

Pronounced differently too. I was suggesting it as an alternative to Romaine.

Romaine is a type of lettuce.

I agree. But Romane is a popular French girls’s name.

TatianaLarina · 17/12/2018 11:54

Romani, there is no R so I’m not sure why you’d add one. She’s no longer with us but it’s Romani

Sorry to hear that Flowers

I ask because I know a Romani pronounced Romarni.

Molakai · 17/12/2018 09:58

Not suggesting you call your DD Titania OP, just pointing out that spelling is no guide to pronunciation.

Molakai · 17/12/2018 09:57

Romani, there is no R so I’m not sure why you’d add one.

There's no 'r' in Titania but it's prounced by many as 'Titarnia'

@Pancakepoop I know! I'm stunned nobody else has talked about it. It's all I see when I hear the name Grin

taleforthetimebeing · 16/12/2018 21:07

Sorry autocorrect Rom-ee! Not Rom-we

taleforthetimebeing · 16/12/2018 21:06

My daughter is Romy - full name Romilly always known as Romy - we pronounce it Rom-we not Roamy.

The other 2 Romy’s I have known pronounce it Rom-ee but I know the movie pronounces Roamy

TatianaLarina · 16/12/2018 20:59

have a Romani

Very pretty - do you pronounce it RoMARNi or ROmani?

TatianaLarina · 16/12/2018 20:57

Remy to me is a French boy’s name + Remy Martin cognac.

Romy but I prefer Romilly.

oooerrmissus · 16/12/2018 20:53

I knew a Romy, short for Romaine which is a lovely name. Also makes the roam-y pronunciation flow a little better I think.

Pancakepoop · 16/12/2018 20:43

#MyOtherProfile I was expecting someone to mention Ratatouille but seems like the only two posts mentioning it are both by you Grin

Remy does have a lovely friendly, smiley connotation.
