Which is your favourite out of:

Clara
Eliza
Matilda

Any other suggestions along similar lines?

Thank you!

I love Matilda and Mattie.

AndItStillSaidFourOfTwo · 17/12/2018 21:14

Clara - beautiful name (and I don't think the Clahra pronunciation, which I like a lot better than Claira, is that un-English - that was how Long Distance Clara from Pigeon Street was pronounced). Closely followed by Matilda. Not keen on Eliza - it seems to be having a bit of a moment alongside Elsie, Evelyn and other names of that type.

Polkasq · 17/12/2018 21:10

Clara. Eliza is OK but a bit harsh. I don't like Matilda, it sounds too mildewy.

FestiveNut · 17/12/2018 20:38

Clara is going to get quite popular with the nutcracker film, I imagine. I would pick something else.

ifigoup · 17/12/2018 20:36

Matilda

DanceTeacherMom · 17/12/2018 20:35

I have a Clara but I wish I would have went with Cara. I love the name Clara (clar-ah) but we get claire-ah a lot, and she hates it!

Astronica · 16/12/2018 06:40

All good names, but my favourite is Eliza.

E20mom · 15/12/2018 23:22

Of those I'd definitely go for Matilda.

FairyFantastic · 15/12/2018 23:21

Eliza - Love it
Clara - I have a love/hate relationship with this name but overall love it.
Matilda - soooo many Matilda's I know. But then again if popularity isn't an issue then it's ok. It's one of those names I find hard to picture on an adult, but think that's just because I only know children called Matilda right now.

I love Matilda and Eliza.. not keen on Clara personally.

alsoliviax · 15/12/2018 19:50

Clara!

CloserIAm2Fine · 15/12/2018 19:49

Matilda

Pemba · 15/12/2018 19:24

Clara if you are going to pronounce it like clare-uh the English way, not the now ubiquitous clah-ra pronunciation.

Otherwise Eliza.

But they are both nicer than Matilda, which is OK.

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 15/12/2018 19:12

All lovely. Probably pick Matilda at a pinch.

daisypond · 15/12/2018 17:44

Clara is nice, but is too "teenage" Victorian/Edwardian to me - I just think the posh one in the Nutcracker and the posh one in Heidi.
Eliza is also nice - but it feels like a short form of Elizabeth, which I prefer.
Matilda I've been coming round to recently, but I've never been keen on it previously. It's been helped along for a few years because of the musical - and that might put me off. But I do like its Anglo-Saxon/German roots.
I'd probably pick Eliza.

Shadow1234 · 15/12/2018 17:39

Clara followed by Matilda. Not too keen on Eliza.

Peachbubble · 15/12/2018 15:48

In order:

Clara
Matilda
Eliza

ReginaPhalange89 · 15/12/2018 14:59

I like Eliza . Matilda is ok but a bit popular these days.

Don't like Clara at all. I like Cara or Lara but not keen on Clare or Clara... Not sure why !

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 15/12/2018 14:22

Eliza.

Other ideas.
Lucia. Alicia. Anya. Lola. Elisa. Laila
Elena. Aurora. Anna. Lilia Rosa. Freya. Olivia. .Lydia.Sofia.

ZebraKid71 · 15/12/2018 13:54

Clara.
I know a very annoying Eliza so that puts me off and matilda is way too popular.

caffelatte100 · 15/12/2018 13:53

Matilda

GoodHeavensNoImAChicken · 15/12/2018 13:53
