Scottish boys names which English family don't find weird/can pronounce!

Myself and DH are English but lived in Scotland over 10 years. We want a Scottish/celtic name but that English families can spell and nothing too used so Alexander is out, James is also out and DH doesn't want any royal ref names!
We can't agree on what our favourite is!
And due in 8 weeks....

So far we have:
Tristan (my fav using the Scottish Saint ref)
Finlay (DH fav)
Logan
Arran (DH not so sure)
Cameron (my worry is family will think Tory ref....)

Not Scottish but on the maybe pile is Rueben.

Any suggestions/help Blush

I think most Scottish names will be easy for them to say - even Ruairidh isnt hard to pronounce (brewery without the B) although the spelling is tricky. Whatever you name him your family will learn to say and spell so I wouldn't be overly worried.

Logan is kind of a...non-Scottish Scottish name. It's certainly a Scottish surname (and I think there's a place called Logan which is probably what it comes from), but I'd say as a first name it's American more than anything.

Tristan as well isnt Scottish. Think it's actually Welsh, but before the Welsh were Welsh, if that makes sense.

Finlay is becoming very very popular up here at the minute (think I've met 9 babies in the last 8 months with the name). So at least he'd be in good company, although if popularity is an issue I'd maybe steer clear.

What about Angus? Or Alistair, don't see many Alistair's anymore and it's a good Scottish name. Or Euan? Fraser? Fraser is a lovely name.

Really? Lachlan is extremely well known and very easy to say, it’s not like your family are from a faraway land!
