I have such a name crush on the name Primrose that it’s our current front runner. Is it my hormones? I’m smitten but would value some honest opinions x

We have a primrose in our family.
She is far from twee.
It's a lovely name

I think that is what will occur to people.

It really, really isn’t. My first thought was of Primula spreadable cheese, and I thought that that was niche.

Apologies for introducing Dr Shipman, but the name sounds quaint to me, "Primrose Tea Rooms". Have you considered, Rosa, Rosemary, Rosina, Rosie, Rosalind?

Jorgezaunders · 04/12/2018 22:28

I would not have known it was the name of Dr Shipman's wife. That's pretty.... specialist knowledge. However I don't think it would put me off, any more than I'd be put off Rose. You could shorten it easily to Rose in fact, if you wanted a nickname. It wouldn't be my choice of name but it's different and pretty.

I would never have made that connection.
I think hunger games is more likely- I think her nn was Prim.

It's very twee on one hand, and on the other the name of Dr Harold Shipman's wife. Sorry, but I think that is what will occur to people.
