Which one? Baby due soon and can't decide which we like best!

You didn't need to justify the spellings OP.

There's such a lot of ignorance about Welsh names on here, same as there is with Irish ones.

My favourite is Rhodri. I've only ever met one, and I really like it.

Angharad07 · 27/11/2018 21:18

There was a Rhodri in the year below me at school- I think it’s a lovely name. I haven’t heard a Rhodri since.

Llongyfarchiadau a phob lŵc, op x

Harri is a Welsh name that was anglicised to Harry.
Tomos is fine although I prefer Thomas.
I'm not mad keen on Rhodri but it's not my baby.
All are perfectly acceptable Welsh names.

DerfelCadarn · 27/11/2018 20:34

Rhodri (mostly because I fancy the pants off Rhod Gilbert)

My mums dog is called Harri...

Cbeebiesrehab · 27/11/2018 20:26

I like Rhodri but not Rhod/Rod. Love Tomos. Harri is unfortunately a bit popular now and would get ‘Harry’ a lot

Peachbubble · 27/11/2018 20:20

Rhodri, with Harri second. Not a fan of Tomos, sorry.

Mesmeri · 27/11/2018 20:05

Rhodri is a wonderful name. Absolutely love it. I like Tomos very much too but I'm not a fan of Harri.

lucieloos · 27/11/2018 19:57

Rhodri is pronounced rhod-REE

DerelictWreck · 27/11/2018 19:29

How do you pronounce Rhodri? Is it like the Scottish name where it's like ruuuuri?

Sidandbump · 27/11/2018 19:23

Rhodri- great name! Nothing wrong with the others but this wins hands down to me.

finallychangedmyusername · 27/11/2018 19:11

I adore Rhodri but all are great names.

user1498549192 · 27/11/2018 19:08

Rhodri; lovely name.

SilverySurfer · 27/11/2018 18:01

OK. I thought my suggestion would avoid comments re spelling but feel free to ignore. I assumed you were Welsh because of Rhodri but obviously others did not.

everybodypuuuuulllll · 27/11/2018 17:43

All are lovely names lucieloos. My personal preference in order would be:

Rhodri, Tomos, Harri.

everybodypuuuuulllll · 27/11/2018 17:42

TBH so many people are wanting to use 'yoonique' spellings these days, it might have been helpful if you had mentioned that you are in Wales and that these are traditional spellings. Just a thought.

Why should she? This is a UK based website and last I looked. Wales was part of the UK. It's hardly as if she was posting foreign language names.

Perhaps people should try harder take a moment and think - wait, is that Welsh / Scottish / Gaelic?

(Rhodri was the clue!)

lucieloos · 27/11/2018 17:37

Sorry I hadn't thought I would have to justify the spellings. Thanks to all the helpful responses!

I think Rhodri is lovely.

Thecaravan · 27/11/2018 17:13

Love Tomos! Please ignore the PP who think they're misspelled. We're not all that ignorant I promise!

VodkaRevelation · 27/11/2018 17:10

I like Rhodri best.

Are people really so ignorant that when they see a spelling they’re not used to, they assume it’s an incorrect version of an English name? Bit racist really.

Emelene · 27/11/2018 17:10

Rhodri for me too. Heard it on the TV show “keeping faith” recently - name of the baby boy, and I loved it!

iklboo · 27/11/2018 17:08

I love Rhodri

sproutsandparsnips · 27/11/2018 17:01

They are all correct spellings and I like Rhodri the most Smile

lucieloos · 27/11/2018 16:38

Thanks everyone. Harri used to be my favourite but I'm leaning more towards one of the other 2 now as think they sound a bit stronger and less popular?

OP posts:
StepMug · 27/11/2018 16:37

Rhodri gets my vote!

IthinkIsawahairbrushbackthere · 27/11/2018 16:34

I love Rhodri. Tomos would be my second choice and Harri 3rd simply because it sounds identical to the English version and the poor boy will have a lifetime off correcting the spelling.
