Poor kid - Effie? I hope to god she isn't overweight or she's going to be called Effie-lump at school ...

MysweetAudrina · 27/11/2018 14:17

I'm afraid my first thought was Offie.

Buddyelf · 27/11/2018 14:15

I can't decide if I like it or not. I'm a Hunger Games fan so in my head the name is somewhat ruined, I hear the name Effie and I immediately hear Trinket so in that sense I don't think I could ever use it. But if you like it go for it, its not a bad name. I would have a longer middle name though like Victoria.

starandson · 27/11/2018 14:07

Frances?

llangennith · 27/11/2018 13:58

Effie as a middle name instead?

AccidentallyRunToWindsor · 27/11/2018 13:55

I just think trinket, sorry!

starandson · 27/11/2018 13:52

It sounds nice with Sophia. I like it with Elizabeth rather than as a nickname for Elizabeth - Effie Elizabeth?

ReginaPhalange89 · 27/11/2018 13:43

I really like Effie too, but I know my family would hate it lol. My OH would never go for it. So rude of people to comment their negative opinions when you didn't ask for them 🙈

What about Effie Jessica?

Jean

Princesspeachy0 · 27/11/2018 07:57

I like Effie Violet and Effiie Sophia :)

MyOtherProfile · 27/11/2018 07:40

I've just realised what was on the tip of my tongue.
Effie College Grin

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 27/11/2018 07:24

It's just not a pleasant sound. It's a bad name. I'd be changing it had my parents called me that.

Donthugmeimscared · 27/11/2018 07:23

Yes it is a book and she isn't a horrible character just a bit eccentric.

PleaseStickBaby · 27/11/2018 07:21

Wait a minute... Isn't the Hunger Games a book?? All of my other children have names from literature (entirely accidental!), so this is even more perfect!!

Effie Adeline
Effie Aurora
Effie Ophelia
Effie Juniper
Effie Sophia
Effie Alexandra
Effie Delphine
Effie Noelle
Effie Elora
Effie Emilia

TheWanderlust · 27/11/2018 06:58

With @Icklepup ... we've got Effie Louise on our shortlist

Donthugmeimscared · 27/11/2018 06:52

Makes me think of Effie Trinket from the hunger games too. Don't dislike it though.

PleaseStickBaby · 27/11/2018 06:50

Surname is a bog standard common one so goes with anything really

Technically short for Elizabeth, but she will just be Effie, as Elizabeth was a twat at school.

Never seen the Hunger Games so not sure. Thanks for non rude answers 😂

I know a Persephone known as Effie.

Middle name Rose, but that doesn't help you as every time you'd say a middle name, you'd say the long full first name.

Still a flower name seems a good choice.

Diva1985 · 27/11/2018 06:18

Effie-lump?

flowery · 27/11/2018 06:12

What is it short for?

TheLastNigel · 27/11/2018 06:08

Jean

MyOtherProfile · 27/11/2018 05:56

How rude Blue
Nah I'm with Blue. Never heard of it before and it sounds like an embarrassing nickname. Surely it must be short for something else more common?

EdisonLightBulb · 27/11/2018 05:55

Isn’t Effie the mad woman off the Hunger Games?
