Just looking for opinions on the name Jenson?
Older brother called Noah.
Narrowed the choice down to Jenson or Rupert now.
Girls name is set at Matilda Rose! Found girls names so much easier.

Jenson and Rupert are strange choices, tbh. They're at opposite ends of a spectrum. Neither of them go at all with Noah. If I had to pick one of the two it would be Rupert, but I wouldn't be keen.

I have a Joseph and he never gets called Joey. occassionally Joe.

I have a lovely 7 year old Rufus! It's not easily shortened. And it's not unusual, just not common.

Jacob was another name I liked when pregnant with Noah but someone said it didn't have a nice meaning?
And recently fell in love with Joseph but worried about it being shortened to Joe or Joey. I prefer to use full names and not have nicknames.

I love the name Jensen (spelt this way), and I first thought of Jensen Ackles (who is gorgeous btw). I think you will find it is widely used as a first name, so please dont be put off by people saying it's a surname. There are lots of surnames that are used nowadays as first names.

I always work in a role where I meet alot of people so past clients can put me off names!

Luke, Saul, Seth, Eli aren't easily shortened and would "go" with Noah, I think. James (anglicised form of Jacob) and John go as well, I think - New Testament biblical as opposed to Old Testament.

Not Jenson.

And the name does not need to "complement" his brother's name. He will be an individual in his own right; and for the vast bulk of his life will not be anywhere near his brother.

Why is it so hard to find a boys name to complement Noah? When I was pregnant with Noah I loved the name Jacob but not sure now as the meaning puts me off. A Facebook friend has recently named their little boy Joseph which I swooned over but worried about being shortened to Joe/Joey as a permanent thing. I just don't really love any other boys names. I prefer names that can't be shortened.

Rupert is nicer than Jenson - which I actually quite like, but it's so associated with Jenson Button, it's become a bit of a celeb imitation name.

Jenson sounds like a brand/ surname to me.
Rupert is ok, but I once went to a Party in a large country house where a very drunk young woman was trying to get her boyfriend Rupert to behave/ give her some attention. She had a hint of a speech impediment ( w for r ) and kept saying “WRupert! Wrupert, come here! I’m really cross now” etc . So the name is a bit tainted for me.
