Am I cruel?

I love the names
Tabitha
Isadora
Genevieve
Maisie

Mentioned these to my friend and she said I'm cruel lol do you think a girl with these names would be bullied? What kind of girl springs to mind with these names?

I don’t understand why Maisie is cutesy - because it's a diminutive of a "proper" name, which is Margaret, and it also ends in I-E, which makes it more cute or childish.

Maisie is the only cruel one. Too comical and cutesy. Reminds me of a mouse.

I often call my daughter Tabby( it’s not her name, but I like to keep her on her toes ). She’s happy with it, but then tabby cats are our favourite things.

Isodora is a bit frilly

Genevieve is lovely

Maisy is a cartoon mouse or a faithful Labrador

I love the name Isadora, as I have a friend with a beautiful and very friendly girl called that. All her friends call her Issi and to family she’s Dora. I’m probably biased about Tabitha 😂, and I hate the name Maisie as all the Maisie’s I meet are either my enemies or very frilly. I like Genevieve, but it’s very French!

Nothing remotely cruel in any of those names. What an odd comment by your friend! All good names, and I particularly like Genevieve and Tabitha.

Tabitha is more popular than you think.
Maisie is ok.
Don't like Isadora or Genevieve.

None of these names would be “cruel”!!
Not keen on Isadora and Maisie is a bit too cutesy for me (also sounds like a cow) but they’re perfectly fine names.
Genevieve is lovely with Gen or Jenny/Jenna for short.
Tabitha is my favourite though. I know a couple and they get called Tabs or Tabby. No bullying

Your names are fine. I'm not keen on Maisie because it seems too cutesy. Isadora is on the posh/frilly side, but it's fine as well. Genevieve is on the rise, I think. I quite like it. Tabitha is my preferred name out of your list - it has a bit of a worthy servant vibe about it, though - a bit like Martha.

Tabitha, Isadora and Genevieve could be seen as posh try-hard. Your friend probably thought this. A child with this name wouldn't blend in with all the Lilys, Avas, Ellies etc. Your friend probably likes more popular names.

My favourite from your list is Genevieve. Classic.

I'm not madly keen on Maisie but the none of those names would be a cruel burden for a child to carry! I clicked expecting something along the lines of Egbertina or Wynflaed.

They're perfectly lovely names, just not to her choice.

I know a Tabitha and two Maisies, I think I know a Genevieve (she shortens but it's Gen not Jen I always assumed)

Isadora is one I wouldn't use cos she's a witch from kids TV when I was young

I don't get the cat thing with Tabitha - I understand the association but I have four friends actually named Cat and that is never an issue!

Most animals these days have human names, there are dogs on my street named Poppy, Bella, Kevin, Graham and Molly so I'm not sure why everyone has an issue with Tabitha.

All perfectly acceptable names. I don't know any child or adult named Genevieve but the others are all regular but unusual names.

They’re all ok. I was at school with a Genevieve and whilst it’s a bit of a mouthful it certainly wasn’t bully worthy. She used to get called Geni but Evie is a nice nickname too.
Not keen on isadora.
Prefer Maisy with a y
Tabitha is a bit cat like but not unusable

The only potential cruel name is Maisie.
Because it's cutesy and comical (Maisie Mouse).

The others aren't cruel!
