Naughty boys names?

Firstly I have got to stop discussing baby names with both sets of grandparents - I know I take their opinions way too seriously.
Dp's Father is a headteacher, we were discussing names on the weekend for our imminent arrival, and Dp mentioned he liked Harrison.
His Dad said we can't use it as it's a naughty boys name.
Our other names on the shortlist are Lucas, Leo and Owen.

What are others opinions on these? I know these names are fairly popular which doesn't worry me too much, I don't actually know any other children with these names ... yet!

The naughtiest boys I've personally known were several Ryans, a Nicholas and a Stephen (Stephen was pure evil, but I still kinda like the name).

I think most people here are subconsciously (or not!) associating what MN would generalise at ‘common’ or ‘chavvy’ names being given to people pre-disposed to be badly behaved. You’re poor and your name’s Jayden so you must be naughty.

I know several middle class, middle-school aged kids with totally ‘acceptable’ names, who are rude, spoiled and entitled.

Exactly. It's not the child's name but the child's environment and parenting that determines its behaviour. Certain names seem to be more popular amongst these socio economic groups.

I know that's unfair and I'm likely to be wrong.

Leo is definitely the best name on your list. Not a fan of Harrison or Owen. Lucas is OK.

This sounds like, what are the most frequently used boys names in lower socio economic groups. OP I would put Harrison into that group.
The UK is very class segregated society and different groups use different names. These dc often come from the least educated and lowest income groups in society so it wouldn't be surprising if they struggled at school sometimes.
A more honest question might be I am looking for middle class names, what are my options? I suspect lots of people rule out names because they don't fit into their socio economic group either up or down.

I'm not sold on Harrison, this is Dp's fave and he's against it being shortened to Harry - with exception of what his friends may call him at school etc. He wouldn't want to use Harry at home.
Leo and Owen are probably my faves, i'm not keen on Lucas all that much, but I'm worried they'll date. This naming malarkey is so so difficult!

We're not judging the children. They don't choose their own names. I mean if they did. I certainly wouldn't have chosen Clare for my name.
I can tell you.
We're making assumptions on their parents and how they are brought up.
If I hear of Jaden I atomically think
Parents must be chavs and let him do as he pleases.
How ever if I hear a let's say Elliot I think oh he's well brought with disciplined parent/parents.
I know that's unfair and I'm likely to be wrong. Elliot might be a little shit and Jaden could be an absolute delight.

Harrison is okay. I'm not a fan of surname names though. And are you thinking of shortening it to Harry? I find Harry very dull and wet fish.

I love Leo, but don't like Lucas and Owen.
