Eliza?

Hi! 24 weeks pregnant and the front runner is Eliza. On our list is also:
Lily, Bonnie, Beth, Hazel, and Skye.

What do you vote for?

Possible middle names:
Rose
Madelyn
Margaret (maggie?)
Twila (it's a family name and wouldn't go with Eliza).

Favourite combo??

And I know I'm going to regret it, but any suggestions?? We've really struggled with girl names and found out it's highly likely to be a girl!!!

All of those names are lovely, but I don't like Skye. Congratulations!

moredoll · 19/11/2018 02:48

Eliza Rose

chocolatefoxes · 18/11/2018 19:24

Eliza Rose is lovely.
Also I don't think you need to name her Elizabeth and then shorten it as Eliza is a beautiful name in it's own right :)

RomaineCalm · 18/11/2018 00:19

I'm with PP - Eliza Margaret Twila.

It seems a shame not to use Twila given the story. For what it's worth I like the idea of middle names being family names or those with some personal significance. Nothing wrong with having two middle names.

Sophronia · 17/11/2018 23:36

Eliza Margaret or you could have two middle names, Eliza Margaret Twila

daisypond · 17/11/2018 17:28

Eliza Margaret.

TheGrassIsGreener3 · 17/11/2018 16:33

Eliza Madelyn

Shadow1234 · 17/11/2018 16:22

Eliza Rose

Do little

It's pronounced Tw-eye-luh in our family. Hilariously, the headmaster at our school pronounced it twee-luh during awards ceremony!! Teased my sis mercilessly for years! Oh childhood!!

My favourite is Eliza. I really like Eliza Maggie.

Next choices from your list are Bonnie and Skye. (Bonnie Margaret, Skye Margaret)

Icklepup · 17/11/2018 10:43

Eliza Rose

AliciaMayEmory · 17/11/2018 09:37

I love the name Eliza. Goes well with any of your list of middle names, but I do love Eliza Rose.

How do you pronounce Twila? It's a great story about your great aunt and I think it would be fine with Eliza.

L0kiWh0 · 17/11/2018 09:34

My mistake, the character is Twyla, but the point still stands.

L0kiWh0 · 17/11/2018 09:33

Eliza is beautiful. I had a great aunt Eliza, she lived til 109 and was the life and soul of any room she was in.

Twila is unusual, and the family history is very interesting and would inspire me to use it.

(There’s a character in the Monster High series called Twila so it could be familiar to people who are aware of it, which may be comforting, if you see what I mean)

bridgetreilly · 17/11/2018 09:17

Eliza Margaret.

CountFosco · 16/11/2018 22:13

Definitely go with Twila then, fab name, fab story!

patsywineeyedwillie · 16/11/2018 22:08

Love the name Eliza. Also like Elisa, Evelyn, Erica.

littlemisscomper · 16/11/2018 21:59

I really like Elizabeth Rose. Personally I prefer Beth as a shortened version but there's 100 different choices so for that reason it's a great name, you can see what she 'feels' like.

Please avoid 'Eliza Skye', it's just too similar to 'Isle of Skye'.

Honeybee79 · 16/11/2018 21:59

Dd (nearly 2) is Eliza Grace. It is a reasonably popular name but we haven'5 encountered any others yet in our area or at our older DS' school.

physicskate · 16/11/2018 21:55

Twila was my great aunt. Quite the character by all accounts. She taught men how to fly bombers in ww2. Died from a burst appendix in 1947, unfortunately. She was in her 30s. No idea where my great grandmother got the name from though!!

My sister's middle name too.

Eliza is beautiful, I like it with Rose or Madelyn.

CountFosco · 16/11/2018 21:46

Enzyme Linked ImmunoSorbant Assay. Hope you don't know any biologists.

Of your first name options I like Hazel. But if you like Eliza and Beth go for Elizabeth. I like Twila though, what is the story behind that name? Everyone needs an unusual family name, gives you a good dinner party story.

CrookedMe · 16/11/2018 21:45

Eliza Madelyn is gorgeous.

Shadow1986 · 16/11/2018 21:43

Was my girls name when I was last pregnant, but I had a boy! Probably a good thing as my dd is called Eva and it’s probably a bit too similar in hindsight! Love the name.
