What are your thoughts on Joseph?
Do you think it would be automatically shortened to Joe, as I immensely dislike names that can be shortened.
Would it go well with brother Noah or does it sound too Biblical? I'm not religious so wouldn't want people to assume from the names.
Ta.

Love it but yes he will choose to shorten it. I went with it knowing I liked Joe also I always call him Joseph.

Just asked aforementioned child what he thinks of his name and he said 'cool'.

DisillusionedEmployee · 16/11/2018 19:25

Lovely! But yes will most probably become Joe and you will have little control of it! Joe is nice anyway Smile

Prime Minister test? She’s a woman called Theresa isn’t she?

HavelockVetinari · 16/11/2018 19:23

Love it, lovely name that passes the Prime Minister test too.

I have a Joe in his 20s.

He is Joseph but declared himself Joe at the age of 4. It totally suits him.

I went with Joseph in full knowledge that it would probably get shortened but like Joe anyway.

I have a 6yr old Joseph. He's only called Joe when playing football. Fab name. Chosen when I was in no fit state to choose a name for a real human, but I love it. Although lots of people think he's called Jacob or Joshua.
Translates into a zillion languages too.
He's a happy customer.

Wallabyone · 16/11/2018 19:21

It's a great name.

CrazyOldBagLady · 16/11/2018 19:21

I love it too but he will likely be a joey or a joe at some point to someone.

pilates · 16/11/2018 19:19

I love it 💕

I have a Joseph. He is definitely a Joseph. He sometimes gets Jo-ah as that stuck when our youngest was trying to say his name. He also get a jojo occasionally. I didn't like Joe so whenever anyone called him Joe I corrected them. It will probably change as he gets older but he will always be Joseph to me.
