We are welsh and live in Wales. Not sure which one we prefer?

I love both but am biased towards Rhydian.

lucieloos · 12/11/2018 17:21

Yes that's quite nice too. I don't know think I'm between rhodri tomos and tomos rhodri at the moment!

Tomos Rhodri sounds nice, removes the possibility of rohd as a nn?

CBA2RTFT · 12/11/2018 10:52

I much prefer Rhydian. I think it's a lovely name.
Also, I used to teach a Rhodri and he was a pain.

E20mom · 12/11/2018 10:39

Outside of wales the only Rhydian reference for most people is the mad X factor guy.

dottyaboutstripes · 12/11/2018 10:22

For me 100% Rhodri - I'm Welsh in Wales too. I don't know why I don't like Rhydian though because there was one in my class at school and he was lovely!

Opheliasgoldenwine · 12/11/2018 10:18

Rhydri is nice Smile

lucieloos · 12/11/2018 10:14

The only slight downside to the name Rhodri is I'm not 100% sold on the nickname rhod.

Rhodri Tomos sounds gorgeous OP

lucieloos · 12/11/2018 09:58

Yes I'm quite liking Rhodri Tomos

Rhodri Tomas is LOVELY. Rhydian is nice but despite not being an x factor fan at all, that's the first thing I thought of!

NoMalone · 12/11/2018 09:46

Rhydian! Much nicer. I am not Welsh but have endured many episodes of Wolfblood where one of the characters is called Rhydian and I always think it's lovely.

lucieloos · 12/11/2018 09:44

Ohh how to decide?! I do like all 3 as well. I was initially thinking maybe Tomos as a middle name but I do like it as a first name too. So...

Rhydian
Rhodri
Tomos

One of those for first name and one for middle name?!

I'm Welsh and love the name Rhydian, although agree that Rhodri is easier to travel with.

I have a soft spot for the name Tomos too...you've basically chosen three of my favourite boys names!

ladybirdsaredotty · 12/11/2018 09:11

Ooh I love Tomos! Either are great, OP!

lucieloos · 12/11/2018 08:44

Great thank you, most seem to prefer Rhodri. There's also the option of Tomos if that makes a difference?

I know lots of people with both names. I've always preferred Rhodri. I think it's a lovely name and ages well.

ladybirdsaredotty · 12/11/2018 06:52

My only reference for Rhydian is also the X-Factor years ago, I haven't heard of it before or since. But I'm not Welsh and don't live in Wales so that might not be relevant! My vote is for Rhodri, though Smile

Sophronia · 12/11/2018 04:57

Rhodri

AornisHades · 12/11/2018 00:38

Rhodri.
Welsh living in England.
Doesn't work with our surname but it was one we considered.

Picknickers · 12/11/2018 00:35

Rhodri because I have a slight crush on Rod Gilbert.

ArchbishopOfBanterbury · 11/11/2018 22:56

Love Rhydian. Not Welsh.

DuchessAnnogovia · 11/11/2018 22:53

I'm Welsh, and I love the name Rhydian

Joinourclub · 11/11/2018 22:52

But that could just be because I associate Rhydian with the one from the X factor years ago! A slightly out of date reference!
