Elizabeth - middle name help!

Hello,

I'm really liking the name Elizabeth for our first child and I can't get it out of my head. It could be used as a middle name potentially but I can't think of an alternative first name that I like as much.

If we were to go with Elizabeth as a first name I would like to add a middle name,so far we have come up with Violet and Victoria.

Any suggestions? Thoughts on Elizabeth and a suitable classic middle name?

Thanks so much

Could you go with some family names for inspiration, that is what I have done. One of my dds is called Elizabeth and I have never regretted it for a single moment.

Elizabeth Anne is perfect! Short, family connection, names go well together Smile

Oh wow!

Thank you so much for all of your lovely responses so far

I like Elizabeth Anne (and this would be family names from both sides) but we also have a one syllable surname so could do a longer a middle name.

So many lovely names have been suggested already that I can add to my list, it's so hard choosing

My dd is Elizabeth Mary Ray
My darling mum, dad and step mum's names.

PippilottaLongstocking · 09/11/2018 10:36

Elizabeth Victoria is a little too Royal and I think Violet Elizabeth flows better than Elizabeth Violet

PippilottaLongstocking · 09/11/2018 10:35

I came on here to say Elizabeth Joy but I see others have got there first!

I think a long first name needs a shorter middle name so
Joy
Ann
Hope
Rose
Mary
Grace

InfantaSybilla · 09/11/2018 10:24

Elizabeth Mabel
Elizabeth Anne
Elizabeth Martha

Hope is nice too. But if you want something that starts with a V how about Viola, which is shorter (sort of), avoids the Violet-Elizabeth Bott association and is a lovely classic name in its own right?

easterholidays · 09/11/2018 10:21

I really like a one-syllable middle name with a longer name like Elizabeth. And I think you want something similarly classic and timeless. So Rose, Ruth, Joy, Grace, Anne, Jane would all be lovely. I think I like Elizabeth Rose best.

Flamingosnbears · 09/11/2018 10:15

Elizabeth Violet gets my vote you don't want to overthink it or it will get very complicated that's a good mix of classic and traditional...

user1498549192 · 09/11/2018 09:38

Elizabeth Hope

JanetBonnet · 09/11/2018 09:30

So definite no to that one

JanetBonnet · 09/11/2018 09:30

Elizabeth Violet is far too like Violet Elizabeth!

temporarilyvoluntarilymerrily · 09/11/2018 07:10

I think a royal sounding name goes best with Elizabeth so Victoria is a good choice. Others would be:

Eleanor
Helena
Mary
Alexandra
Anastasia
Anne
Catherine
Jane
