Which do you prefer?

Which name would you choose out of the following two options

Elizabella...e-liz-ah-bell-ah
Elizathena...e-liz-ah-thee-nah

I wouldn't use it myself but now I know it's not made up think Elizabella is very pretty.

Imagine a toddler trying to say "Elizathena" though- don't go for that unless you love Eliza, as it will 100% just get shortened.

I wouldn’t use it unless you are Spanish? If so the first one. I would definitely prefer Elizabeth, Eliza or Isabella though!

I prefer Elizabeth or Isabella.

If you are going for one of the 2nd names you suggested then I prefer Elizabella.

A European Spanish speaker would pronounce LL as y and z as th.

If you are Spanish speaking OP you need to note that English speakers will not pronounce Elizabella in the way you will and she will spend a fair amount of time correcting people.

Elizabella but it's a bit of a mouthful still, I'd prefer Eliza or Isabella.

Not a made up name, Elizabella is the Spanish form of Elizabeth

Elizabella is dreadful. Have you made it up? Reminds me of Lilyella, which is also terrible.

You can't go wrong with Elizabeth/Elisabeth.

I'm not keen on the sound of Elizathena, but I've always been a fan of Elizabella.

It has been a name in Scotland since at least the 1720s (As Elisabel, Elisabella appeared later in the 1760s). It fell out of use in the 1930s but seems to be resurfacing again, so it is a real name and I think it's very pretty!

What is the point of baby names threads if you can't say how you honestly feel about a name? Surely it is better to hear on here before naming a baby and everyone thinking it anyway.
