Nathaniel/Nate for a boy?

I am Italian and I would like the middle name to be Italian. So I have thought Nathaniel Dante West. Nathaniel shortened to Nate. I don't like "super trendy" names and Nate is not very common these days?

Still undecided though, interested to hear everyone's opinions.

I prefer Nathaniel shortened to Nat. Nate sounds very American.

It's what I would have called my DC had she been a boy! Beautiful name! X

Nathaniel or Nathan are nice, but I don't like Nate at all.

babybrain77 · 06/11/2018 18:38

I love it but was put off by the 2 Nathaniel's I know being shortened to Nat rather than Nate which I don't like.

Taffeta · 06/11/2018 18:20

Not a fan at all - I find Nate very twee.

Love the name- DH and I always said if we had a boy it would be Nathaniel with nn Nate as it’s classic and works for all ages

ChaosMoon · 06/11/2018 15:01

Really lovely, both the nickname and the full name.

SallyWD · 06/11/2018 15:01

It's lovely

I love Nathaniel. I think it's a lovely name. Classic but still uncommon. Nathaniel Dante flows really well imo
