Oh, what a strange thing to do Papergirl! Was the advice ‘you’ received on netmums in relation to your thread better or worse? Grin

Papergirl1968 · 06/11/2018 08:10

Ps I’ve reported only so Mumsnet are aware three posts were lifted right on to Netmums.,

Papergirl1968 · 06/11/2018 08:07

Netmummer Sarah reposted one of my threads, Superstar so unlikely.

Aintnothingbutaheartache · 06/11/2018 02:09

Penelope is a very lovely name!
I’m in SE and a huge fan of Lady Penelope (Keith)

plaidlife · 06/11/2018 02:07

I really like it, classic with good nicknames.

SuperstarDJ · 06/11/2018 01:56

Papergirl - maybe OP and netmummer Sarah are the same person?

Papergirl1968 · 05/11/2018 23:22

Reported as this is one of three posts copied and pasted word for word from Mumsnet to Netmums by a Netmums poster called Sarah. Bloody cheek!
FWIW, op, I like Penny but my dad used to pronounce Penelope as Penny Lope!

OutPinked · 05/11/2018 16:50

I really like it. When my DD was born I binge watched The Big Bang Theory whilst cluster feeding and almost changed her name to Penelope as a result Grin.

DuckofDoom · 04/11/2018 20:39

I’m in the south east but the Penelopes are all over. A couple in Northern Ireland, one in the north west, the youngest one is in Devon and I’m sure there’s another one I’ve forgotten.

Cleo2628 · 04/11/2018 19:58

Thanks everyone! @duckofdoom just out if interest & if you don’t mind saying - what region do you live in?

Would ace been DD name had my surname not made it sound ridiculous. Adore it

userabcname · 04/11/2018 17:00

Love!

Citylivingwithdogs · 04/11/2018 16:47

Lovely. Lots of them under 3.

Didyeeaye · 04/11/2018 16:45

It's ok but always makes me think of Penelope pit stop from wacky races lol can't take it seriously as a name because of it

RoomWithALoon · 04/11/2018 16:41

I love Penny, but not keen on Penelope. Don't know why!

ZebraKid71 · 04/11/2018 10:08

I really like it. Some people say it's getting popular but I don't know of any so it may depend on where you live.

Cbeebiesrehab · 04/11/2018 09:36

Quite like it but don’t like Penny. Like Nell/Nelly though

SallyWD · 04/11/2018 07:55

Really lovely name

snowychristmas · 04/11/2018 00:18

I love it. It's my DD1s name and we've always called her Nelly

DuckofDoom · 04/11/2018 00:13

I love it but I’ve just seen a fourth or fifth baby Penelope born in my circle of acquaintances. I think it’s becoming very popular, so might be something to consider if that bothers you

DramaAlpaca · 03/11/2018 23:33

Gorgeous.

Preferably with Nell as a diminutive rather than Penny.

2128Cl · 03/11/2018 23:33

Not keen. I do like Penny.

totallyaddicted · 03/11/2018 23:31

Nice but quite common now.
