Betty Maud or Maud Betty?

We definitely want to use Betty and Maud in dd’s name in some form - after mine and dh’s grandmothers.

We’re wavering between using both the names as middle names, and having something else first e.g. Madeleine/Caroline/Jemima/Eleanor Betty Maud

Or just using those two names, one as first, one as middle.
I.e. Maud Betty or Betty Maud

Our surname is two syllables, starts with O, along the lines of Oakland

Betty Maud flows better than Maud Betty, it’s a lovely classic name, ‘vintage’ names are coming back into fashion too

I love Betty and Maud although Betty Maud reminds me of the Betty Ford clinic

Elizabeth would give her more options. I reckon the Betty you are naming her after would have been an Elizabeth anyway.

She was actually just Betty - her mother had thought about calling her Elizabeth, but hated the inevitable Lizzie!

Elizabeth Maud is lovely

It is, but my grandmother was always Betty.

In fact, her mother had wanted to call her Elizabeth, but was worried it would get shortened to Lizzie, which she hated, so just called her Betty by itself! So Elizabeth wouldn’t feel like it was after my grandma if that makes sense.

Elizabeth Maud.

Sorry, I'm not much help because I'm not keen on Maud & I don't like Betty at all.

Elizabeth would give her more options. I reckon the Betty you are naming her after would have been an Elizabeth anyway.

I like both names, but I’d put both in the middle of it were me. It seems fairer. I really like Jemima Betty Maud!
