I love it; same with names like Blair, Blake etc for girls sound great to me.

I like it, but it also depends if you are in the US or not. I think it might be considered a boys name in the UK.

Kelsey Grammer (of Frasier game) has a daughter is called Spencer Karen Grammer so perhaps it's more American?
I see no reason why it wouldn't work for a girl if you paired it with a more feminine sounding middle name?

It’s only just charted for girls in the top 1000s in the US, last year. BNOG is a very ‘in’ thing there and it’s only just charted despite a popular TV Show... I think a girl Spencer would get more than a few Hmm reactions in the UK.

I honestly hate it on a girl but I don’t like boy names on girls. It would work in America where it’s a very in thing to do but I think she’d always be ‘girl Spencer” here and judging by the comments most people will just think you’re a fan of Pretty Little Liars (I’ve never watched it so didn’t make the connection personally)

My friend's daughter is called Spencer... I was a bit  about it when I heard the name but I didn't realise the general hatred for it was so strong! And I've only just twigged about Pretty little liars - my friend is a big fan

Thank god I'm not alone! I work with a girl who called her DD that because of PLL. It's a boy's name and it's pretentious. The colleague has form for thinking she's better than she is though.

I strongly prefer it as a boy's name. Of course you can do as you like. This is your child. You see how people feel here for most part, though, and it's not good.

Nope. It's a surname or a boy's christian name. For a girl it sounds all wrong to me.
