I prefer Abraham for the same reason I prefer Sarah to Sara - the 'h' sound was added, so the story goes, to represent the breath of God in their lives. I find it incomplete otherwise.

But if you are just going on sound and are unfussy about meaning, it's a great name. Congratulations on your lovely baby Flowers

Abram feels a bit incomplete to me. I don't think it sounds particularly strong either.

I would assume Abram was Jewish. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but personally I wouldn't choose a name strongly linked to a faith I'm not a member of.

I know ‘Abrams’ as a surname. I like Abram as a first name. Asa is a great old name. I like a lot suggested above. Abram to me is very religion-rooted-linked name. If you are atheist that might be something to think about ?

I like Abram, but I think when I (and many others) heard it I would assume you/he said Abraham. I agree with you though, lots of lovely Old Testament/Hebrew names. We went with Caleb

I love Bram and I actually know one. I thought about it for my son, but apparently it means ‘fart’ in Scottish Gaelic?!

I prefer Abraham. Which is what the majority of people will assume you said upon first introductions of Abram. Correcting people might get a bit tedious after a while.

I like the name Joah. Have only ever met one and much better than Jonah imo.

I also like Amos & Saul.

I absolutely love Abram. I love Abraham too, and indeed one of my sons has the Hebrew form (Avraham) as a middle name, because of the importance of Avraham in Judaism. However, if was going to use either as a first name, it would be Avram/Abram, as I think it's more 'wearable'.
