My sister is looking for a name. She likes ‘clever sounding names, like Hermione and Philippa’. What others do you think fit in this category? Thank you!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

My daughter is called Florence and she's very clever if that helps!! (Maths degree, first)

daisypond · 23/10/2018 13:57

Minerva or Athena? Roman and Greek goddesses of wisdom. Though wise doesn't necessarily equal clever.

Clarissa
Elspeth
Evangeline
Nerissa

Potentially, someone could have the worst name in the world, and still be clever (so it doesnt make much sense)

florafawna · 23/10/2018 12:39

Don't understand the question Confused

Would like to add Iris and Ursula. As mentioned above, Helena and Eleanor are lovely names.

irregularegular · 23/10/2018 11:36

I saw some info once on girls most likely to go to Oxbridge. In the 90s I think. Not the most common Oxbridge names - it was conditional on the number in the population.

Katherine
Anna
Eleanor

I can tell you that there seems to be a ridiculous number of Katherines and Kates among the academics I meet.

Otherwise - Matilda? Marie (as in Curie)?

BlueChampagne · 23/10/2018 11:33

Unusual criteria, but suggest Athene and Minerva.

Atalune · 23/10/2018 11:33
