How would you spell the name pronounced (my ah)

I'm currently pregnant with a baby girl and
We like the name mya but NOT Pronounced mia...
her name would be Mya Morgan but I'm not sure if this is how it's spelt and if like to know ways other would spell it as I know there are a few.

it's very confusing to write as no one can hear me pronouncing it but I hope you understand...

So far we have come across
Mya
Maia
Maya
Myah

I’d pronounce Maya or Maia the same as what you’re looking for.

The Mexican Maya people is the same pronunciation.

I know a Maia whose name is pronounced may-a.

The only spelling where I’d automatically presume it was pronounced my-ah would by myah but I do think that looks a bit strange.

Mya- my-uh
Maya/Maia -either my-uh or May-uh (I know girls who spell both ways).
I think Mya is the only one where I would always say my-uh

I'd spell it Mya personally but have seen it spelt Myah/Maia.

I also used to work with a Maja which is pronounced the same as how you prefer.

Mia - I'd assume mee-ah
Maya- I'd assume migh-ah
Mya, Myah, Maija etc -I'd assume you were trying to be unique and wouldn't know.

Last year I taught a Maya pronounced “May-a” and and Maya pronounced “My-a” and, much to my frustration, I got them the wrong way round constantly!

But that could be culturally specific to where I live.

As someone with a DD who has an old, Greek, very well-known name that can be pronounced at least three ways, mispronunciation really isn't that big a deal.

Yes, her name does get mispronounced. But then that's it - the person knows, and it gets pronounced correctly thereafter. All her friends and family know our pronunciation, and that's her name.

If you really love the name, go for it. This feels like a huge deal right now, but the instances of mispronunciation is few and far between, and over quickly. Her name is [our pronunciation].

I’m not going to lie, I’m a teacher and when I see Mia/Myah/Mya etc on the register the first time I’m teaching a class I take a random guess and hope for the best. We have pupils that spell their names the same but pronounce them differently, in all honesty it’s a minefield until you get to know the groups. BUT once you know, you know and pronounce it correctly. I’m not one to be put off by a little correcting of a name, I’m of Polish heritage with a Polish name (never gets pronounced or spelt correctly, but I still love it’s a big part of my heritage) and we have a DD called Niamh, who, frequently has her name said and spelt incorrectly!

Mya I'd pronounce my-a
Myah I'd pronounce my-a but it ight get misread is Myrah
Maia looks lovely written down but I'd def pronounce it May-a

I'd go Mia or Mya

It is highly likely that if you call her Mya, she will be called My at school.
Any name with more than 2 syllables will inevitably be shortened. I think you need to find a 1 syllable name if not being shortened is important - though it may then be lengthened as a term of endearment - Ann to Annie, Meg to Megan or Meggie etc etc!
The only names I can think of that don't get changed (am a teacher so hear lots of names!) are Jade, Sian, Niamh, Livvy, Maud, Iris and Evie.

Maia, or Maya (the latter being more eastern in origin). Both beautiful, and both pronounced My-ah.

Oh my gosh! This was the problem We had at the beginning and made me go of the name completely  I thought I was looking into it too much but i don't want my child's name to be called off the register and have to correct people every time. We really like this name and it's the only one we really like and both agreed on and have told a few people the name also...
my son is Harley Morgan and she was going to be Maia/Mya/Maya/ Morgan

Any other name suggestions? We like names that can't really be shortened...

Traditionally it's Maya or Maia, prefer the first spelling. Mya looks like there's something missing.

People who pronounce Maya like May a are just wrong, think they are getting confused with the name May.

To me, Maya looks best, but that’s probably just because it’s what I’m most familiar with.

Maia is also nice.

Personally, I’d assume that a child called Mya was of Indian/South Asian origins (not that that’s a negative, just something to consider).

I’ve never come across Myah before. That’s definitely my least favourite.
